Fortnite Chapter 3: Live Event Overview

As the counter reaches zero, the Loopers can finally witness the end of Fortnite Chapter 3 before Chapter 4 sets sail. Epic Games is no stranger to creating the most significant events to keep their players interested in the game. There is much to talk about in the latest Live Event, and we will break down what happened to the ending of Fortnite’s FRACTURE.

Before discussing the ending, we have to go back to the first season of Chapter 3 and what led to the Herald succeeding in destroying the land of Artemis (code-name of the Fortnite: Battle Royale map for Chapter 3).

Fortnite Chapter 3: Collision

After a failed attempt to free Zero Point forever, the Last Reality breaks the glass that led to the destruction of the Cube Queen’s portal while washing Loopers to the sea. The Cube Queen and her army are defeated, for now. We can’t say the same for the Imagined Order, as they began plotting their subsequent counterattack.

Sloan emerges from the ground, wearing snow stealth gear to scout the new island. The Seven know a full-scale war is about to arrive. The Scientist contacts the Paradigm, thinking she is their only hope, but the rest of the Seven refuse to listen. As far as they know, she’s a traitor who is probably dead, but The Scientist doesn’t give up. He learns that Paradigm is alive and trapped in the Mech.

The Scientist attempts to convince the Foundation to begin a rescue mission by lying that he was talking to the A.I. in Paradigm’s suit. That was enough to deceive the Foundation and begin their journey to the Ice Moon. Meanwhile, the Imagined Order is prepared to attack with full force. Their base of operations is now located at Covert Cavern and has gathered enough of their army that consists of blimps, drills, and soldiers.

As dawn approaches, they begin their attack, and the Zero War has begun as the Resistance comes face to face with the I.O. (Imagined Order) on the battlefield. Slone and her army took over the island and surrounded the Sanctuary, and it was a bloodbath. With the help of the Loopers, The Seven fight back. The war lasted for months, and they were able to take control of the Tilted Towers and shoot down the I.O. Blimps. In a desperate act, Geno and Slone create a doomsday device that will annihilate everybody on the island. Ironically, it’s the same plan that Paradigm stopped in Chapter 1; she has to do it all over again.

The Seven were successful in their rescue mission as the Scientist revealed that he lied. Paradigm explains her betrayal from all those years ago. Reluctantly, Foundation agreed to rebuild the Mech and end the Zero War once and for all.

It all comes to a close in the Grand Finale: COLLISION, as the Mecha Strike Commander blasts towards the island in a massive battle between both sides one last time. When the war seems lost, Doctor Slone is the last line of defense before the Mech can destroy the collider. Jones tells everyone to hold their fire as he and Slone have been coworkers, even friends, for hundreds of years. He offers her a chance to redeem herself finally. She does not take the chance and points her tank toward the Seven; she does not realize that she wasn’t given a choice. It was either give up or die. Slone and her tank have fallen into the abyss with one strike from the Mech.

With only Geno remaining, he attacks his daughters, the Order and the Imagined, who joined the Seven after he replaced them with superior copies. The Imagined is hungry for revenge; no matter the cost, she will get what she wants. She gets her final wish by tackling her father into Zero Point, killing them both. It takes them to countless realities so consecutively that they are ripped apart, but Geno leaves a final message for the Foundation before he goes. A warning that something bigger is coming and killing him may destroy everything.

Fortnite Chapter 3: Fracture

While the island parties celebrate victory in the war, Zero Point blooms, and nature takes over. Yet, it sends out distress signals in the form of strange relics that appear all over the island, and the Scientist is confused and does not understand why it is doing this. Someone is searching for powerful weapons.

Secretly, the Herald uses the Reality Tree’s power to find the strongest weapon yet. Visiting the darkness, The Nothing beyond all realities, she finds an evil presence. It gifts her the power of Chrome and unleashes it upon the island. The Last Reality can finally exact revenge with Geno out of the way, and the Seven is caught off guard; it was able to consume everyone except Paradigm, who escaped into an unknown reality called 659.

They have spent years annihilating universes to ensure they are the only ones left. Since there are infinite realities, the Zero Point is the only way to ensure that every single one is destroyed. With Chrome, it’s finally time to complete their plan and ensure that Nothing is inevitable.

The Paradigm is currently investigating The Loop Breaker Project, hoping the answers are hidden inside, and it seems the only way to fight this Chrome is with gold. Unless Geno can return sooner than we thought, he is currently piecing himself back together across multiple realities, and maybe he’ll arrive just in time.

That became too good to be true, as the loopers, without help from anyone, create a fortress at the last place of hope, the Reality Tree. Chrome has finally consumed everything and is at the end of its rope. It is the last stand against the Herald, and Loopers prepare for a fight. With all the guns at their disposal, they hope to defeat her; she transforms into a giant chromed version of herself. Nothing can take her down, not even a barrage of rockets the Loopers send her way. The Herald has won; everything has been consumed, and the island has been destroyed, leaving only debris.

The Loopers that survived are left in the void of space, watching Zero Point collect whatever pieces of the island it can collect as Paradigm is talking to AMIE and requesting a status report. The survivor’s all work together to gather the island’s remains; it seems that Zero Point is attempting to rebuild and needs assistance. Paradigm initiates Zero Fusion to restore what was lost, finally gathering pieces from other realities to create a new island, bringing Fortnite Chapter 3 to a close.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1

Now that Chapter 4, Season 1 has officially arrived, there are new things to explore. With Epic Games using Unreal Engine 5.1, we can expect next-gen graphics where players are taken to a new realm. With new Outfits, Battle Pass, and The Incredible Hulk joining the fight in a later game. We can expect great things to come.
