Fortnite Heavy Shotgun (Epic/Purple)
The Epic/Purple Fortnite Heavy Shotgun was toted as the best close-range weapon available when it came out, and despite a recent series of nerfs and buffs to most guns, it remains a top dog. The Epic/Purple variety, the lowest of the Heavy family, fires a remarkably accurate shell for surprisingly long distances (I have gotten 30+ health off from twenty or thirty meters). Some call it the love child between Pumps, known for their accuracy, and Tactics, which are revered for their speedy firing. Along with its impressive 7-shot clip, it is one of the shotguns most players hate to see in the hands of an enemy.
- Color: Purple (Epic)
- Thrill factor: Its power means that a fight can be over in the blink of an eye, so as with all things capable of one-shotting, it is a thrilling experience. However, since missing a shot isn’t as big of a deal as it is with the Pumps, it’s only “high” instead of “very high.”
- Popularity: It has a startlingly mixed reputation along with all other shotguns, but most players will take a Heavy over any other.
- Odds of finding the weapon: It can be difficult to find one until the very end of the game, seeing as they rarely get left behind.
- Interesting Note: Whenever the shotgun damage hit marker gets fixed, this will be one of the deadliest tools available. Before the erratic damage output, an accurate player with one could mow down the opposition in a nearly absurd manner.
The Epic/Purple Fortnite Heavy Shotgun is something I would recommend never leaving behind. Even if you remain skeptical, you don’t want your enemies to have it. The trick to using it properly is to remain calm and calculate each time you pull the trigger, not firing randomly. It is most recommended for people who want a weapon capable of unleashing enormous damage.
