OSRS Crafting Guide 1-99

OSRS Crafting Guide

Crafting is a F2P skill in Old School RuneScape, and even though the training methods are more varied and profitable for members, it is one of the skills that F2Ps can efficiently train. For an ironman, crafting is one of the more grindy skills since it also involves obtaining the materials, but it takes work to make it as a F2P ironman.

OSRS Crafting F2P Training

Even if you’re F2P, you can make leather armour and pottery. The first option is not viable because it is costly, and the second is slow and expensive. However, as a F2P, you can profit extensively when training Crafting by making gold and silver jewelry.

OSRS Best F2P Method for Crafting

A viable training method you’ll need to arm yourself with jewelry moulds, gold bars, and cut gems such as sapphire and diamonds and a lot of patience. Head to the Edgeville furnace since it is very close to a bank. Here, you can make 13 pieces at a time, except for the pure gold ones, where you can make 27. Buy your supplies ahead so you don’t have to run back and forth from the GE.

● Levels 1 to 20

Craft leather gloves to reach level 5, then make 8 gold rings and 15 gold necklaces to level 8. At level 8, start making gold amulets until level 20.

● Levels 20 to 40

Make 29 sapphire rings, 26 sapphire necklaces, 120 sapphire amulets, then 320 emerald amulets to reach level 40.

● Levels 40 to 70

Make 175 ruby necklaces, 600 diamond rings, 973 ruby amulets, and 6151 diamond necklaces to reach level 70.

● Level 70 to 99

From level 70 to 99, you’ll need to make diamond amulets. You’ll need to make over 100k of them, and they’ll bring you a profit of around 4 mil.

General Training Methods for OSRS Craftings

Craft Leather Items

Leather items are worth doing from levels 1 to 20 to skip these levels quickly, especially if you don’t like questing. You will need the leather, a needle, and a stack of thread for the process. The method involves withdrawing the leather, crafting the items, depositing the crafted materials, and keeping the thread and needle in your inventory.

D’hide Bodies

The method is very similar to leather items, but you will use dragon leather for much faster XP instead of leather. The method becomes viable at level 63 but is not profitable so you will lose GP. It is viable to train using this method till 99 if you have the GP to spend.

Cutting Gems

An even faster method relies on cutting gems. You will need a chisel in your inventory to do 27 at a time.

  • Level 20 sapphire
  • Level 27 emerald
  • Level 34 ruby
  • Level 43 diamond
  • Level 55 dragonstone

While this method is fast, it is also not profitable, and you will end up losing GP.

Molten Glass

This is the most ironman-friendly method since the materials for making the molten glass are easily obtainable in large quantities compared to other crafting materials.

As an ironman, you must first make the molten glass from buckets of sand and seaweed and then use a glassblowing pipe on the molten glass to craft various objects and get even more crafting XP. The method is slow but reliable, and for regular players, it can be profitable at level 46 with unpowered orbs.

Cutting Amethyst

If you grinded your mining level to 91, you will have unlocked a profitable method to train your crafting skill that goes hand in hand with mining the amethyst yourself. Most amethyst products will bring you a profit, and they are stackable, so you won’t need to bank. Instead, you’ll craft and then go back to mining.

  • Level 83 amethyst bolt tips
  • Level 85 amethyst arrow tips
  • Level 87 amethyst javelin heads
  • Level 89 amethyst dart tips

Shades of Morton Minigame

An AFK way to skip some crafting levels is by engaging in the shades of Morton minigame and building the temple. You will need a few supplies, such as a Flamtear bag, hammer, bracelet, timber beam, limestone bricks, and swamp paste. The XP gain is slow, but you can make a profit.

Cutting Semi-precious Gems

This can become quite a profitable method to train your crafting at higher crafting levels. Unlike the regular gems, you have a chance to destroy these gems and obtain crushed gems instead. At higher levels, though, the likelihood you are unsuccessful when cutting them minimizes, so you will be able to make a good profit by cutting these gems:

  • Jade – Profitable from level 7
  • Opal – Profitable from level 35
  • Red Topaz – Profitable from level 77 onwards

Questing

You can also obtain a fair amount of Crafting XP by questing since 33 quests provide crafting XP, and this can be huge if you’re trying to reach a higher level specifically to be able to access a specific method:

  • Sheep Shearer
  • Goblin Diplomacy
  • Tower of Life
  • In Search of the Myreque
  • Misthalin Mystery
  • Dwarf Cannon
  • Animal Magnetism
  • The Golem
  • Making History
  • Tears of Guthix
  • Recipe for Disaster (Goblin generals subquest)
  • Recipe for Disaster (Pirate Pete subquest)
  • Murder Mystery
  • Recipe for Disaster (Skrach Uglogwee subquest)
  • Cold War
  • Enlightened Journey
  • In Aid of the Myreque
  • Shades of Mort'ton
  • Observatory Quest
  • The Giant Dwarf
  • The Fremennik Trials
  • The Great Brain Robbery
  • Nature Spirit
  • The Slug Menace
  • Shilo Village
  • Getting Ahead
  • Elemental Workshop I
  • The Fremennik Isles
  • Cabin Fever
  • Enakhra's Lament
  • Elemental Workshop II
  • The Hand in the Sand
  • The Fremennik Exiles
