Fate Grand Order Tier List
Aniplex initially released Fate Grand Order in Japan, but they brought it to the west with a global release. Developed by Lasengle, a subsidiary of Aniplex, the free-to-play mobile game is a tactical RPG that features characters from the Fate franchise. With Fate Grand Order boasting a massive collection of servants and BB, knowing which are the best or worst in the game is vital to creating the ultimate dream team. Luckily, we’re here to help you know which characters to look out for with our Fate Grand Order tier list.
As we rank each of the servants you should aim to conquer, the choice is yours on who you should set your sights on first. You can pick up to four servants to take into battle in Fate Grand Order, but simply picking the top four characters doesn’t mean that your victory is guaranteed. Although with the help of our tier list, we highly recommend experimenting with different team compositions to find the best build for you—depending on the battles you’ll do. After all, not every servant is battle-ready.

Make Sure to Always Have Saint Quartz
You can obtain servants in Fate Grand Order using Saint Quartz, a currency collected from matches; you can also purchase them with real money. If you don’t have any Saint Quartz in your account, you’ll have a rough time getting all the characters we’ve laid out on our tier list.
Singularities Are the Best Way to Get Free Servants
If you stumble upon Singularities, you’re in luck. Singularities are limited-time events you can do to win new and powerful servants. Best of all, participating in the event is free of charge—no need to open your wallet for this one!
Since each servant has a specific niche due to their various skills and abilities, you’ll need to compose your four-person team before going into battle. Moreover, you—the player—will also be part of the impact. While your team’s technical strength matters, it all boils down to what strategies you’ll employ to wipe the enemy waves off.
Ranks and Stars in Fate Grand Order
In Fate Grand Order, the ranking tops at S, with E being the lowest. The ranks are what classify each servant by type and rarity. Since the top rank is S, we can say that servants that are part of that rank have the best stats and abilities.
Then there’s the matter of stars. Stars can be treated as the sub-tiers within ranks in Fate Grand Order. Hence if you were to compare a 5-star servant to a 1-star servant, the 5-star character would inherently be more powerful since it possesses a high maximum level; choosing a 5-star servant will be much better than going with a two or 1-star one. But being powerful doesn’t mean they’re the best in the game. You shouldn’t forget to sift through the other rankings carefully—1-star alternatives in a higher rank could easily outshine many 5-star servants that belong in rank D or E, despite what a Fate Grand Order Tier List tell you.
S-tier Servants
S-tier servants can be an absolute powerhouse if used right. Almost all servants in this tier have hordes of skills and abilities along with plenty of buffs and heal to assist themselves and their team members. If you have an S-tier servant in your hands, taking down enemies wave after wave will be a breeze. Most of the characters here are 5-star ones, but you’ll be delighted to hear that some servants are an exception to this rule.

A-tier Servants
Servants that belong in this tier aren’t exactly the cream of the crop, but if used in a proper niche or paired well with a support, they can go head-to-head with the top brass. They can help the damage dealers, or if you modify them with some buffs, they can fit in any role with proficiency. Overall, you can make a strong team with A-tier servants, and they’re more than enough to take down lethal enemies.

B-tier Servants
Servants in the B rank are typically considered as the middle ground. They’re not mind-blowing compared to the other higher ranks, but they’re not entirely useless. In fact, you can still go far into Fate Grand Order with just these types of servants—at least until you get to the endgame.
Class | B-tier Servants |
Archer | Chiron, Kid Gilgamesh, Oda Nobunaga, Billy the Kid, Tristan, Tawara Touta |

C-tier Servants
C-tier servants are passable; they’re mainly good at fitting in niche-specific compositions. They’re not the best when dealing damage, but if you’re only up against low-rank opponents, they should get the job done. These servants have mediocre stats across the board, meaning they’ll need some help from their allies.
Class | C-tier Servants |
Archer | Archer of Shinjuku, Archer of Inferno, Napoleon, Orion |
Saber | Siegfried, Chevalier d’Eon, Suzuka Gozen |
Lancer | Hektor, Romulus, Ereshkigal, Li Shuwen |

Avenger | Avenger of Shinjuku |
Ruler | Saint Martha, Amakusa Shou |
D-tier Servants
D-tier servants aren’t that good—they only offer meager utility and risk getting outnumbered/outpowered by foes. Because of that, we don’t recommend using them unless you don’t have any other servants that belong in the higher ranks.
Class | D-tier Servants |
Saber | Ryougi Shiki, Gawain, Gilles de Rais |
Lancer | Musashibou Benkei, Nezha |
Caster | Gilles de Rais (Alter), Caster of the Nightless City |
Rider | Iskandar |
Assassin | Mata Hari, Assassin of Paraiso, Katou Danzo, Stheno, Osakabehime, Phantom of the Opera, Semiramis |
Berserker | Chacha, Tamamo Cat, Caligula |
Archer | Helena Blavatsky (Alter), Arjuna |
E-tier Servants
E-tier servants are the worst characters you can get in Fate Grand Order; only a miracle can turn them useful when in a team. We don’t recommend using these servants for close battling; don’t add them to your team unless you have no better options.
Class | E-tier Servants |
Saber | Arthur Pendragon |
Caster | Irisviel |
Lancer | Medusa (Alter) |
Berserker | Beowulf |
Assassin | Stheno, Assassin of Shinjuku |
Rider | Boudica |
