The Dark Heart of Skyrim Celebration Event

Hear ye, hear ye! The Dark Heart of Skyrim Celebration Event is officially underway in Elder Scrolls Online! Take to the world of Skyrim and The Reach to earn event tickets you can exchange for goodies! Now, to get in on the fun, you must take advantage of the festivities and participate in the event. You’ll need an active subscription to Elder Scrolls Online or previously purchased The Reach and the Greymoor chapter DLC. While the Dark Heart of Skyrim Celebrate Event is happening, you can earn bonus rewards from various activities in The Reach and Western Skyrim zones. What’s more, you can also face enemies inside all four dungeons of the Stonethorn and Harrowstorm DLC.

Getting Started

I’ve already noted that you’ll need an ongoing subscription for ESO, but you must also meet other requirements. You must have access to the content below if you want to partake in this momentous event:

• Markath DLC
• Greymoor Chapter
• Stone Garden Dungeon
• Unhallowed Grave Dungeon
• Castle Thorn Dungeon
• Icereach Dungeon

If you’ve ticked all the boxes for the requirements, you can accept the Event Quest: Bloody Reunion from the Crown Store or through a note at any Impresario tent. Alternatively, you can start the quest after receiving it directly from Mel Adrys (located near Karthwatch in Western Skyrim).

You’ll be tasked with tracking one of Dunmer’s Grey Hosts in this quest. To start, you must check one of the two Grey Host ritual sites. Once you’ve completed the task, Mel Adrys will send you out to kill a vampire in a zone dungeon. Finally, you’ll seek out the Harrowstorms’ Mel will be helping you take them down once you find them. The quest doesn’t end there just yet, though, as you’re encouraged to seek out the remaining Harrowstorms to earn exclusive event rewards.

Reaping the Rewards

The great thing about the Dark Heart of Skyrim is that it’s one of the main events in Elder Scrolls Online, where you can earn tickets to spend at the Impresario. You can earn one Event Ticket for completing a daily quest in Western Skyrim or through Kyne’s weekly Aegis quest. It’s also possible to earn another ticket if you complete a daily quest in The Reach. Note that the items stocked in the Impresario change from year to year, so if you have any items that you want to purchase there, now is the best time to do so, considering that 2022 is about to end. The Impresario often has collectibles such as special mounts, skins, furnishings, and more.

But wait, there’s more. Besides Event Tickets, you can pick up a Glorious Box of the Grey Host Pillage when you complete the daily or weekly quests in The Reach or Western Skyrim zone. They can contain the following items:

• Green/Blue/Purple Quality Skyrim Treasures
• Blue/Purple Quality Skyrim Overland Set Items
• A chance for one of the following:
  • Saarthal Scholar Armor Style Page or Sovngarde Stalwart Armor Style Page
  • Chaurus Egg, Crimson Nirnroot, or Vile Coagulant
  • Skyrim Furnishing Recipes
  • The Reach or Western Skyrim Treasure Map
• A chance for one of the following:
  • Skyrim Crafting Motif Style Page
  • Skyrim Crafting Style Item

Every other daily quest you complete in these two zones after that rewards you with a Regular Box of the Grey Host Pillage. These drop from a wide variety of places, such as Harrowstorms, World and Delve bosses, treasure chests, safeboxes, defeating monsters, and harvesting crafting nodes. They can contain the following items:

• Green/Blue Quality Skyrim Overland Set Items
• Green/Blue Quality Skyrim Treasures
• A chance for one of the following:
  • Chaurus Egg, Crimson Nirnroot, or Vile Coagulant
  • Skyrim Furnishing Recipes
  • Saarthal Scholar Armor Style Page or Sovngarde Stalwart Armor Style Page
• A chance for one of the following:
  • The Reach/Western Skyrim Treasure Map or Survey Report
  • Skyrim Crafting Motif Style Page
  • Skyrim Crafting Style Item

It’s Shopping Time

Thinking of going on a shopping spree? You can use the Event Tickets you’ve earned to buy all sorts of things from the Impresario. Here’s what’s in store for you:

• Group Repair Kits
• Three Soulfire Dragon Illusion Pet Fragments
• Saarthal Scholar Outfit Style Pages (Bound)
• Companion Guild Commendations
• The first two fragments for the Sacred Hourglass of Alkosh

The Indrik Vendor is also part of the Dark Heart of Skyrim Event if you want to peruse other wares. Here’s what the NPC will have available for purchase:

• Frost-Light Indrik Pet
• Rosethorn Indrik Pet
• Feathers for the Nascent Indrik Mount
• Berries for the Crimson Indrik Mount
• Berries for the Pure Snow Indrik Mount

When Will the Dark Heart of Skyrim Celebration Event End?

This year’s Dark Heart of Skyrim Event will run from November 17 until the 29th, so act fast if you don’t want to miss out on getting those Indrik mounts or Event Tickets. Compared to the other online events for ESO, this is probably one of the more accessible ones despite requiring players to have multiple DLC packs. At the very least, you don’t need a high-level character to join in on the fun.
