Best Healer in WoW

Genshin Wanderer
By | December 5th, 2022 | Categories: World of Warcraft

Each member of a party in World of Warcraft serves a purpose. You had a solid team to get you through raids, dungeons, and intense boss battles. A DPS class party member needs to be able to deal enough damage to kill the boss. Then you had a Tank that absorbs and draws as much damage as possible to protect its team. Finally, a Healer, a support class whose job is to keep the Tank alive and the entire Party as much as possible. All three working together are the key to successful battles in a team.

Most of the classes in World of Warcraft have their way of healing themselves or others. For example, Warlocks and Hunters are both DPS classes but can have the ability to heal their pets. While Mages could even conjure food to provide their heals—the list of the best Healers who specialize in this art, not those with healing benefits. The guide allows the players to become powerful Healers in their team to support them in every battle. We have also added the details on what kind of build a potential Healer would need to be as effective as possible.

Best Healers in WoW (Ranked)

We have handpicked the top five classes for potential Healers and their builds in World of Warcraft. All of the builds per class will discuss Talents, Glyphs, Gems, Enchants, Stat Priority, and Rotation to provide a general overview of the basic requirements to become a Healer of that class.

5. Holy Paladin (Tank Healer)

Starting with the Paladin, this class acts more like a tank but can fit into the Healer category with the right build. A Holy Paladin can heal but is not as effective as the others on this list. They are so far down on this list because they lack Area of Effect Healing. However, when it comes to single-target healing, they can be pretty effective. Thinking about this as a party, helping your team as a Holy Paladin will take too much time and most likely be healing yourself.

  • Talents: A common Holy Paladin Build takes Divinity from the Protection Tree. With the talents from the Protection Tree, it increases all healing by 5% while also taking conviction from the Retribution Tree for an additional 5% Critical Strike chance.
  • Glyphs:
    • Major Glyphs: Holy Light, Beacon of Light, and Seal of Wisdom
    • Minor Glyphs: Blessing of Kings, a Lay on Hands, and Blessing of Wisdom
  • Gems: Adjust your gems depending on your gear, as they can change your build, equipment, and caps.
    • Meta: INsightful Earthseige Diamond
    • Red: Brilliant King’s Amber with 1x Luminous Ametrine
    • Yellow: Brilliant King’s Amber
    • Blue: Brilliant King’s Amber with 1x Dazzling Eye of Zul
  • Enchants:
    • Head: Arcanum of Burning Mysteries
    • Shoulder: Greater Inscription of the Storm
    • Back: Enchant Cloak – Greater Speed
    • Chest: Enchant Chest – Powerful Stats
    • Bracers: Enhance Bracer – Greater Intellect
    • Gloves: Enchant Gloves – Exceptional Spellpower
    • Waist: Eternal Belt Buckle
    • Legs: Sapphire Spellthread
    • Boots: Enchant Boots – Tuskarr’s Vitality

  • Healing two tanks: Scared Shield, then Beacon of Light on one Tank, and following this up with continuously casting Holy Light and Holy Shock. You can use Flash of Light if you are running out of mana.
  • Lower Gear healing: Switch Flash of Light to make this your primary healing spell, then use Holy Light to get Light’s Grace buff.

4. Restoration Shaman Healer (DPS Healer)

Shamans are the Horde versions of a Paladin, a mixture of a Healer and Tank; you can expect a Restoration Shaman to have a skillset of DPS/Healer. This class can have powerful passive healing from having Totems or an insane burst of Area of Effect Healing. Skills such as Chain Heal or Healing Wave increase their potential as a Healer but still fall very short compared to more effective Healers on this list.

  • Talents: A standard build for a Restoration Shaman. The talent you would focus on is the Restoration Tree while having the Enhancements Tree as a second priority.
  • Glyphs:
    • Major Glyphs: Chain Heal, Healing Stream totem, Earth Shield, Healing Wave, Earthliving Weapon.
    • Minor Glyphs: Water Shield, Water Walking, Renewed Life
  • Gems: Adjust your gems depending on your gear, as they can change your build, equipment, and caps.
    • Meta: Revitalizing Skyflare Diamond or Insightful Earthsiege Diamond
    • Red: Reckless Ametrine
    • Yellow: Energized Eye of Zul
    • Blue: Quick King’s Amber

    • Head: Arcanum of Burning Mysteries

    • Back: Enchant Clock – Greater Speed
    • Chest: Enchant Chest – Powerful Stats
    • Bracers: Enchant Bracers – Superior Spellpower
    • Gloves: Enchant Gloves – Exceptional Spellpower
    • Waist: Eternal Belt Buckle
    • Legs: Sapphire Spellthread
    • Boots: Enchant Boots – Icewalker
    • Weapon: Enchant Weapon – Mighty Spellpower
    • Shield: Enchant Shield – Greater Intellect

    • Spell Power
    • Haste
    • Critical Strike
    • MP5 (Restores X mana per 5 seconds)
  • Skill Rotation:
    • Setup before the Pull: Start with a Water Shield to cast it onto yourself to serve as your primary mana regen.
    • Buff your weapon with Earthliving Weapon.
    • Select the best 4 Totems for your Party.
    • Protect your Tank by casting Earth Shield.

3. Restoration Druid

A versatile class due to their diverse kit, we love Druids as Healers as they can bring more to the table that others are mostly incapable of doing. Druids have access to many Healing Over Time Spells that constantly heal their allies without spamming to cast spells. The spells available to Druids are often instantly cast, allowing them to be faster healers than most. Pairing that with their burst and Area of Effect Healing makes Druids a great asset to the team. They only fall short of other abilities that are more effective, like the last two on our list.

  • Talents: Focusing on Restoration Tree with some Balance Tree talents.
  • Glyphs:
    • Major Glyphs: Swiftmend, Wild Growth, Nourish, Rapid Rejuvenation, Regrowth.
    • Minor Glyphs: Unburdened Rebirth, Wild, Thorn
  • Gems: Adjust your gems depending on your gear, as they can change your build, equipment, and caps.
    • Meta: Insightful Earthsieg Diamond
    • Red: Runed Cardinal Ruby
    • Yellow: Purified Dreadstone
    • Blue: Reckless Ametrine
  • Enchants:
    • Head: Arcanum of Blissful Mending
    • Shoulder: Greater Inscription of the Crag
    • Back: Enchant Clock – Greater Speed
    • Chest: Enchant Chest – Power Stats
    • Bracers: Enchant Bracers – Superior Spellpower
    • Gloves: Enchant Gloves – Exceptional Spellpower
    • Waist: Eternal Belt Buckle
    • Legs: Brilliant Spellthread
    • Boots: Enchant Boots – Tuskarr’s Vitality
    • Weapon: Enchant Weapon – Might Spellpower
  • Stat Priority:
    • Haste
    • Spell Power
    • Spirit
    • Critical Power
    • Intelligence
  • Skill Rotation:
    • Start casting Regrowth and Lifebloom on your Tank. Maintain your casting on the Tank at all times.
    • Area of Effect healing combo of Wild Growth and 5x Regrowth.
    • After using a massive Area of Effect, cast Tranquility can be used or Barkskin.

2. Holy Priest

A near-perfect healing class, the Priests, are tricky to rank as their abilities depend on their build. When building a Priest for healing, they are the closest to the best Healers in the game. You can be assured that they have a spell for almost every occasion. A Priest with a superb build would not only heal, but they can also buff and support, unlike everyone on this list. They have access to the Area of Effect Healing, which can cover a substantial great radius. This versatile class can make a difference in your battle.

  • Talents: Focusing on the Holy Tree and having the Discipline Tree as your second priority talents.
  • Glyphs:
    • Major Glyphs: Prayer of Healing, Circle of Healing, Flash Heal

    • Chest: Enchant Chest – Powerful Stats
    • Bracers: Enchant Bracers – Superior Spellpower
    • Gloves: Enchant Glover – Exceptional Spellpower
    • Waist: Eternal Belt Buckle
    • Legs: Brilliant Spellthread

1. Monk

Even though Priests have an excellent reputation, we cannot go wrong with a Monk. Healing is an art that they have perfected more than anyone else on this list and has the highest healing numbers in the game. You cannot go up against a Healer who can hold their own while healing everyone in the team while out healing every Healer in the game.

  • Talents: Focusing on the Monk Tree and Mistweaver Tree as your second priority talents.

  • Skill Rotation:
    • Single Target: Vivify, Soothing Mist, Enveloping Mist, Renewing Mist
    • Running while healing: Focused Thunder, Thunder Focus Tea, and use Life Cocoon to save a target from dying.

Final Notes

When acting as a Healer, always keep in mind to coordinate with your team to ensure their survival. These build guides are a general overview of what these Healers are capable of, and we have provided you with the standard builds for each class. As you progress throughout the game, your build will depend on you and how you play as a Healer. Never forget to heal your party members and apply buffs you can cast. Your cooldowns also need to be monitored, and your mana, each second, and mana point counts in a real-time battle in World of Warcraft. Feel free to experiment and improve your Healer as you progress as a team is as good as their Healer.
