Mounts have been a fundamental part of World of Warcraft’s universe for around 14 years already. And ever since, fellow WoW players have wondered what are the Easiest Mounts to Get in WoW.

Whether you’re brand new to the game or someone who’s been away for some time, you’d most likely want to get your hands on the sexiest and fanciest mounts in the game, but without putting too much effort into it.

And guess what? That’s why we came up with this revealing and super awesome list of the top 8 easiest to get mounts in Blizzard’s most successful franchise!

(8)  Garn Nighthow

Drops from: Nok-Karosh (an elite beast)
Location: The western part of Frostfire Ridge (Draenor)

In order to get your hands on the pretty neat Garn Nighthow mount, you’ll have to travel back to the world of Draenor, as the elite mob that drops it can be found there.

This is essentially a big wolf, quite similar to the Orc faction mounts. Regardless, it looks kind of neat, it’s an epic mount and even better, it has a 100% chance to drop.

(7) Reins of the Black Drake

Drops from: Sartharion (dungeon boss)
Location: The Obsidian Sanctum (10-man) dungeon in Dragonblight, Northrend

This is the first of the 3 mega awesome drake mounts in WoW that are all pretty easy to acquire. For the Reins of the Black Drake, you’ll have to take a trip down memory lane to the amazing Northrend continent that got introduced back with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

There’s a 29.79% drop rate for this epic mount, which means that if you’re lucky enough, you might as well get it on your first run to the 10-man version of TOS.

(6) Reins of the Twilight Drake

Drops from: Sartharion (dungeon boss)
Location: The Obsidian Sanctum (25-man) dungeon in Dragonblight, Northrend

You can consider the Reins of the Twilight Drake the cooler and more badass brother of the black drake. With an undeniable charm and with the incredible design that revolves around vibrant violet colors, making this one of the hottest mounts on this list.

This beauty has a decent drop rate of 43.60% and it drops from the exact same boss (Sartharion), with the only difference being that this mount drops in the 25-man mode of the same dungeon.

(5) Reins of Poseidus

Drops from: Poseidus (rare elite NPC)
Location: Shimmering Expanse and occasionally Abyssal Depths (Vash’jir)

The Reins of Poseidus is a superb aquatic mount (can only be used underwater) that has an awesome drop rate (97.96%), but the mob who drops it is a rare-spawn elite, which means that you might have to some searching prior to getting that mount.

To make your life easier, here’s the full list of possible locations of Poseidus who drops this cool epic mount:

  • Shimmering Expanse – 65.8, 41.4 / 65.4, 41.4 / 58.4, 82.2 / 57.0, 83.4 / 56.8, 81.0 / 46.6, 50.0 / 45.8, 48.2 / 45.4, 49.8 / 45.6, 51.0 / 39.6, 68.2 / 38.8, 68.8
  • Abyssal Depths – 41.6, 73.2 / 40.0, 74.2 / 40.4, 76.0

(4) Reins of the Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth

Drops from: Mei Francis (exotic mount vendor)
Location: Dalaran – 57.6, 42.6 (Northrend)

This is one of the truly unique mounts in World of Warcraft, as Reins of the Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth has some outstanding features, such as:

  • You can carry 2 player passengers with you (there’s no minimum level requirement)
  • When you hop on it, you’ll have access to 2 vendors – one for repairs plus reagents and one for consumables like food, water, ammo etc.

It’s decently priced as well. If you’re Neutral with the Kirin Tor wizard faction, this mount will cost you exactly 20,000 gold, while getting to Friendly brings the price down to 19,000, Honored to 18,000, Revered to 17,000 and if you’re Exalted, it’ll cost you 16,000 gold.

(3) Reins of the Wooly Mammoth

Drops from: Mei Francis (exotic mount vendor)
Location: Dalaran – 57.6, 42.6 (Northrend)

Yet another mammoth, sold by the very same vendor in the Northrend Dalaran. Reins of the Wooly Mammoth isn’t as fancy as it’s “traveler’s tundra” cousin, but it’s pretty affordable and super cool nonetheless.

Unsurprisingly, this mammoth mount is twice as cheap as it’s more sophisticated counterpart, with a price of 10,000 gold.

(2) Reins of the Armored Brown Bear

Drops from: Mei Francis (exotic mount vendor)
Location: Dalaran – 57.6, 42.6 (Northrend)

That’s the third epic mount sold by Mei Francis on our list and thankfully, it’s not a mammoth this time. In fact, it’s the Reins of the Armored Brown Bear, which is basically a regular bear with some sort of hearing armor and something like goggles (go figure).

And here are the prices that you may expect, depending on your rep with the Kirin Tor:

  • Neutral – 750g
  • Friendly – 712g 50s
  • Honored – 675g
  • Revered – 637g 50s
  • Exalted 600g

(1) Reins of the Bronze Drake

Drops from: Infinite Corruptor (dungeon boss)
Location: The Culling of Stratholme (Caverns of Time)

This one is arguably one of the most sought-after epic flying mounts in the entire game. Getting your hands on the Reins of the Bronze Drake will make you feel rather special and best of all, obtaining this mount is a rather straightforward process.

You’ll have to go back to one of the most brilliant Wrath of the Lich King instances – The Culling of Stratholme and kill the Infinite Corruptor boss who has a 90.98% chance to drop the bronze drake mount, which means that you’ll most likely get it on your first run!
