The 5 Most Badass WoW BfA Mounts

WoW BfA Mounts
By | December 30th, 2018 | Categories: World of Warcraft

There’s no denying that mounts have been an integral part of World of Warcraft ever since the game first saw the day of light back in late 2004. And now that the latest WoW expansion Battle for Azeroth is finally here, it not only brings a plethora of fancy new gameplay features but many new mounts too. That’s why we decided to make a unique list of the 5 coolest new WoW BfA Mounts that you can get your hands on!

In fact, the 9th WoW expansion brings quite a few brand new mounts. From random world and boss drops to PvP mounts and quest-specific ones, everyone’s bound to find their favorite mount. There are even mounts that are more obscure in terms of acquiring them, so if you’re a sucker for World of Warcraft mounts, you’re gonna love this list!

Oh, and keep in mind that while many BfA mounts have already been data mined, many haven’t been implemented to the game yet. Yes, I’m referring to most Allied Races mounts like the Darkforge Ram!

1. Nazjatar Blood Serpent

Category: World drop
Souldbound Status:
Bind on Pickup (BoP)
Drop From:
Adherent of the Abyss
Zone: Stormsong Valley, Kul Tiras
Drop Chance: 30.95%

You have to give it to the Nazjatar Blood Serpent, it’s simply a totally kickass mount! Now, getting this mount isn’t all that complicated – here’s what you’ll have to do:

  • Acquire 20x  Abyssal Fragments
  • Get to the Altar of the Abyss that’s located at 73.50, 23.61 in Stormsong Valley
  • Use the 20 fragments on the altar (warning: this will cost you about 5,000 health!) and you’ll now have an Abhorrent Essence of the Abyss
  • Head to the Abyssal flame inside the Stormsong mine (at Warfang Hold), coords: 58.88, 85.
  • Once in the cave, use the small statue there to summon the rare elite mob that drops the mount

Just note that you’ll probably need the extra help of your fellows for this one since Adherent of the Abyss isn’t exactly easy to kill.

2. Prestigious Bloodforged Courser

Category: PvP reward
Souldbound Status:
Bind on Pickup (BoP)
Requirements:
Honor level 500

The Prestigious Bloodforged Courser is totally stunning, with this imposing stance, heavy armor etc. Also, it somewhat reminds me of the original Warlock mount back in vanilla, which is definitely not a bad thing per se!

Nonetheless, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to crown this mount as the ‘the hardest to get’ in BfA. Why? Because you need to reach Honor level 500 by PvPing pretty hard. And without spoiling all the fun, I’ll just mention that you’ll most likely have to spend at least a few hours each day in order to achieve that as fast as possible.

Even then it should take you many weeks of farming Honor. But hey, if you do get your hands on this beauty, you’ll have a truly rare and unique mount to add to your collection!

3. Dune Scavenger

Category: World drop
Souldbound Status:
Bind on Use (BoE)
Drops From:
Sethrak mobs (e.g.Sethrak Aggressor)
Zone: Vol’dun, Zandalar
Drop Chance: 0.2%

Although a world drop, getting your hands on the outstanding Captured Dune Scavenger is a rather time-consuming activity. It’s not uncommon for a player farming for this mount to spend 24 hours total and accumulate over 35k kills just for one drop. However, the good news is that this pretty neat looking hyena-like mount drops from regular Vulpera mobs in Vol’dun.

As for the best farming location, it’s around 55,40. Basically, just head north-east of the Vulpera Hideaway and keep grinding there. Your best would be to AoE as many Vulpera mobs as possible to maximize your chances of getting it in the shortest time span. Yes, that means that you have to eventually group with another player.

4. Mag’har Direwolf

Category: Allied Races Mount
Souldbound Status:
Bind on Pickup (BoP)
Requirements:
The Allied Races: Mag’har Orc
Faction: Horde

This awesome mount is one of the only two Allied Races mounts that were released with the Battle for Azeroth launch. In essence, if you’ve unlocked Mag’har Orcs then you’ll also have access to this beauty.

You’ll have to finish the Mag’har quest chain that available once you complete the Ready for War achievement and reach exalted with The Honorbound faction. Oh, and this mount is account-wide, meaning that you can use it on other (lvl. 110 or higher) characters as well.

5. Dark Iron Core Hound

Category: Allied Races Mount
Souldbound Status:
Bind on Pickup (BoP)
Requirements: Allied Races: Dark Iron Dwarf
Faction: Alliance

The Dark Iron Core Hound is the first mount from the Allied Races-specific ones in BfA that are available to Alliance players only. You automatically get it by unlocking the Dark Iron Dwarf race and to do that, you’ll have to finish the Ready for War chain, as well as get to exalted reputation with the 7th Legion.

And in a similar fashion to other Allied Races mounts, this one is categorized as an account-wide mount. This means that you can use it on all other Alliances races in the game.

When is the BfA Bee Mount going to be released?

It’s already been confirmed that the mysterious Bee mount will be released with patch 8.2 of Battle for Azeroth. Currently, we only have a model of this neat mount and a placeholder spell in-game, although that summons a totally different mount. However, note that we won’t be able to fly in Kul Tiras or Zandalar prior to patch 8.2, so be patient.

And since patch 8.2 will most likely get released sometime around summer of 2019, there’s still a way to get a glimpse of how cool it’d be to ride a giant bee in WoW. How? By going to Stormsong Valley, Kul Tiras and using the services of the Colony Caretaker flight master who’s located in that zone. He’s situated right next to a beehive and as you might’ve guessed, he uses giant bee mounts for his flying services.

Conclusion

Although BfA comes with a myriad of cool new mounts, the 5 mentioned above are undoubtedly one of the coolest ones out there. And the good news is that most of them aren’t all that hard to obtain, especially the pretty awesome two initial Allied Races mounts.
