There’s no doubt that macros have always been an important aspect of World of Warcraft’s gameplay. However, some classes, such as Warriors, typically rely on them more than others. This is especially true in Vanilla WoW. That’s why we’ve decided to make this ultimate WoW Classic Warrior macros guide for you!

Check out our Marketplace to buy cheap WOW Classic Gold.

We’re going to take a closer look at various macros for different scenarios like being the main tank in a group. On top of that, we’ll also look at the most valuable Classic add-ons so make sure to bookmark and read on!

What exactly is a Macro in World of Warcraft Classic?

A macro is a specific in-game command that’s inserted into the chatbox and it always starts with a forward slash (/). The forward slash is necessary because this is what separates macros from just typing a regular piece of text in the chatbox.

For example, if you’d like to whisper to another player you can type “/w” in the chat. However, more advanced forms of macros are even used to enhance your gameplay by binding them to action buttons.

How to set up Warrior Macros in Classic WoW?

Setting up WoW Classic Warrior macros isn’t any different from creating macros for any class.

First, you’ll have to open the Macros window – either by typing /macro (or simply /m) in the chat or choosing Macros from the Main Menu. Once you’ve opened the Macros window, you have to:

  • Pick a tab (General Macros or character-specific ones)
  • Hit the New button
  • Select an icon and the name for your macro
  • Click OK
  • Your newly created micro will now be added to the macros grid (the main window)
  • Select your micro and click Edit
  • Type your micro
  • Click Save

You can then add your newly created macro action button to your action bar and start using it. Now, the two macro-categories (tabs) simply mean which of your characters will have access to these macros.

As the name suggests, General Macros are accessible to all the characters on that particular account. While character-specific ones are macros that will only be available to the character you’re creating them on.

On a side note, keep in mind that there’s a 255-character limit for all macros in WoW.

Which are the Best WoW Classic Warrior Addons?

Apart from some class-specific addons, Warriors in Classic WoW also greatly benefit from standard addons. This includes quest helpers, damage meters, etc. Even though a cluttered UI is never a good thing, sometimes you’d want to replace the default UI to improve your gameplay as a Warrior.

So, here are a few of our addon recommendations for your Warrior:

EvlUI Classic

This addon replaces the default UI almost entirely with a highly-customizable user interface. You will be able to benefit from neat action bars and contemporary unit frames to improve your gameplay.

Classic Threat Meter

Whether you’re playing as a tank or a DPS Warr, Threat Meter is truly essential in raids. Classic Threat Meter will show you how much threat you’re generating so that you’re always where you should be, threat-wise.

Spy Classic

Since Warriors are never keen on Rogues (or other classes with stealth abilities) sneaking up on them, Spy Classic makes perfect sense. It scans the area around you for enemy players and if it does detect anyone, Spy Classic reveals their level and class in your UI.

This is a superb navigation addon that enables players to set waypoints on the main map. Thus, when you set a waypoint, an arrow appears that points towards the exact location of the waypoint so that you can reach certain coordinates much easier.

Auctioneer Classic

This is a great Auction House addon that can make your life easier whenever you’re posting or searching for items on the AH. It’s a simple AH addon that even lets you see the price (per item) on stacked items that are for sale. It’s so good that we’ve even included Auctioneer Classic in our WoW Classic Auction House Addon article!

So what’s the verdict regarding WoW Classic Warrior Macros?

Macros have always been important in vanilla WoW and they’re a crucial aspect to Warriors’ gameplay as well. Thankfully, now you know what a macro is, how to create one, and what the most useful macros are.
