Everything You Need to Know about TFT Patch 14.1
It’s been a while since we got a TFT Set 10 Remix Rumble patch. Riot hasn’t touched the current set for over a month due to the TFT Vegas Open. We see many balancing changes with the new update, with tons of champions getting buffed. While there will be some nerfs here and there, it doesn’t seem like these units will weaken their synergies significantly. Here is everything you need to know about the current patch:
Table of Contents
Champion Changes
Buff
1-Cost Units
- Evelynn – She has been under-utilized than most 1-cost champions, so the developers ramped up her Whiplash attack speed on cast from 120% to 150%
- Lilia – While Lilia performs consistently, she needs a slight buff to keep up with other scaling tanks. Her mana requirement has been reduced from 140 to 130.
- Nami – While her stun duration has been reduced from 1.5 to 1.25 sec, Nami’s Mana requirement has been reduced from 15/75 to 15/60 to allow her to cast her Bubble more times.
- Olaf – The Pentakill bruiser has been slightly underwhelming beyond Stage 3, so he is getting big buffs by adjusting his AD from 50 to 55 and his Berserker Rage Attack Speed based on missing 1% HP from 0.12% to 0.15%.
- Tahm Kench – As one of the base bruisers, TK feels a bit weak to play early on. Tahm Kench receives massive buffs to his AD, Armor, and Magic Resist from 60 to 70 and 35 to 45 (Armor and MR), respectively.
- Vi is the weakest unit in all her comps, so Riot is ramping up her damage ability. The Harder They Fall AD% changes from 220% to 330%, and the empowered AD from 320% to 450%.
- Yasuo – Yasuo’s AD increase per kill has been ramped up as Synthesizer Strike now gains 1.5% per stack instead of 1%.
2-Cost Units
- Bard – Bard’s Healing Doots will get a boost while improving his damage. Improv Doot Damage changes from 190/285/430 to 200/300/450. Improv will constantly cast three damage notes and one healing note as long as there is someone that he can heal.
- Garen – Garen’s base form will also get an upgrade. His Base HP increases from 750 to 800. Meanwhile, his HP increases for every Power-Up! cast has been altered from 200/215/230 to 215/230/245.
- Gragas – Boogie Hour’s damage has ramped up from 160/240/360 to 190/285/440.
- Kai’Sa – The K/DA ADC receives love from the latest patch to make her a viable early carry. Got the Boom AD% changes from 280/280/285% to 290/290/300%. The AP damage ramps up from 30/45/65 to 40/60/90.
- Katarina – Kata is getting slightly buffed as her attack speed is now 0.75 instead of 0.7.
- Kayle – Pentakill’s Angel has been unreliable regarding support and damage. Her Fires of Ascension empowered attacks bonus Damage upgrades from 35/50/75 to 35/55/80. Meanwhile, the final attack will deal 240/360/540 instead of 210/310/475.
- Pantheon – Pantheon needs more tackiness to enable him to be a viable frontline at any stage in the game. His Too Tough To Kill Damage Reduction AP has increased from 15% to 20%.
3-Cost Units
- Lulu – The Yordle’s Tastes Like Glitter primary damage has been increased from 240/360/575 to 250/375/600.
- Lux – Laser Light Show ramps the damage from 230/345/550 to 250/375/550 to make Lux more viable throughout.
- Miss Fortune – MF has suffered too much after the last nerfs to Jazz. Her Double Time AD% has increased from 270/270/275% to 280/280/290% to bring her back to the game.
- Neeko – Neeko’s getting more survivability by increasing her Cosplay Shield from Ally HP ratio from 5% to 6%.
- Mordekaiser – Face-Melter’s damage becomes more powerful to keep Mordekaiser a high-value frontline. The ability’s damage over three seconds changed from 200/300/480 to 220/330/525. The final burst boosts its damage from 200/300/480 to 220/330/525.
4-Cost Units
- Thresh – The Country Guardian will get tankier with the latest increase in his HP from 1000 to 1050.
- Twisted Fate – TF’s buff sees him gaining more cards as the attack speed needed to get one bonus projectile is now 20% instead of 40%.
- Viego – Riff of the Ruined King Slam upgrades its damage from 200/200/400% to 225/225/450%.
- Zac – Zac feels a bit squishy as a tank and is a bit unreliable as a frontline if not correctly itemized. His overall kit receives a boost with his mana requirement now 120 instead of 130, while his armor and MR upgrade to 70 from 60. He now gains more healing from his Let’s Bounce! as he gets 120/160/800 instead of 100/150/800 per bounce.
5-Cost Units
- Lucian – The cost of Jazz feels a bit weak compared to other units of the same tier, so Riot finally fixes his ability to scale with his attack speed properly. His Arpeggio Shot AD% scales from 55/55/1000% to 60/60/1000%. His base AD now also ramps up to 70 from 60.
- Ziggs – The Dazzling 5-cost is getting a slight tap to his kit, with his AS increased to 0.85 from 0.8. Meanwhile, his Chaos Theory’s smaller bombs increase their damage from 70/105/400 to 90/135/500.
Headliners
- Evelynn – Her Damage ramps up to 20 AP from 15 AP to make her a viable early carry for her comps.
- Olaf – The Fjeljordian has been lackluster as a headliner, but devs want to change that by increasing armor and MR to 15 from 10.
- Tahm Kench – TK’s HP has been increased from 225 to 300.
- Taric – Taric’s HP will also increase from 100 to 150.
- Gnar – Gnar’s Headliner form gets focused down too early to reach his full potential. Devs delayed his initial jump to prevent enemy backliners from focusing on him from the beginning.
- Gragas – Gragas’ damage ramps up to 18% from 15%.
- Neeko – The K/DA Superfan guardian now gives 40 Mana to the ally she copies instead of 20.
- Kayn – Kayn’s AP ramps up from 5 AP to 10 AP.
Nerf
1-Cost Unit
- Corki – The 8-Bit Big Shot is getting a slight nerf to his Blown to 8 Bits ability by reducing the AD% from 320 to 300.
- K’Sante – K’Sante is a bit too strong for an early-stage Sentinel. Devs are reducing his ability’s base Damage Reduction from 30% to 25%.
- Ahri – Ahri’s attack speed receives a slight nerf to lessen her cast rate. Her AS is now 0.75 instead of 0.8.
- Ekko – Riot downgrades Ekko to give other tanks a chance in the spotlight. His Record Scratch Stun Duration has been lowered to 1 sec instead of 1.5 sec.
- Poppy – Mosher Poppy has been too hard to kill, so her Hammer Time Heal per Hit has been reduced from 6% to 5% of her max HP.
- Qiyana – The True Damage 5-Star feels too overpowering in many instances. Riot cools her down by reducing the number of items she copies from 1/2/3 to 1/1/3. Her damage to itemless enemies downgrades from 75% to 60%.
Headliner
- Garen – His Headliner form will see a decrease in his HP from 400 to 350.
Balancing Adjustments
- Annie – Annie’s Disintegrate has been altered to ramp up her central damage from 195/295/440 to 220/330/495. However, her powered-up attack speed and second disintegrate damage have been reduced from 50% to 40% and 115/170/255 to 80/120/180, respectively.
- Twitch – Twitch only works when certain Augments appear. Even without these modifications, his kit needs some alterations to make him more viable. Twitch’s Bottled Anarchy now scales from 225% to 250% AD. However, his secondary shard explosions will only target four instead of 6 to ensure it’s not too dominating.
- Caitlyn – With the buffs to 8-bit, it’s understandable Caitlyn will need some adjustments. Her Champ Hunt AD% has been reduced from 390/390/800% to 360/360/750%. However, her Champ AP ramps up to 40/60/200 from 25/40/120.
- Karthus – The Pentakill executioner receives some alterations to make him a more viable carry even when he is not 3-stars. Mortal Reminder now targets 4/4/6 instead of 5 throughout. The damage dealt at lower stars has been increased, so his ability AP changes from 220/330/1000 to 270/405/900. His starting mana has been lowered to compensate for these from 40/120 to 30/120.
- Sona – While Sona has been an excellent 5-cost unit so far, players seem to rely too much on her Attack Speed buff. Sona’s Heal Form will get a boost from 4/7/100% to 5/8/100% per auto-heal. Her Damage form now grants 3/4/100 instead of 2/3/100 per auto. Meanwhile, her Attack Speed form gets a slight nerf, downgrading her auto from 25/35/500% to 20/30/500%. Her Attack Speed Cast reduces the bonus from 125/175/777% to 100/150/777%.
Headliners
- Vi – While Vi’s damage as a Headliner is unquestionable, she is just too squishy to be a viable unit from the beginning. Devs are altering her kit by increasing her HP from 150 to 250 and her damage from 20% to 15%.
- Yasuo – His recent base form upgrade means that his Headliner should also get some tweaks for balancing. His HP ramps up to 200 from 100, while his Omnivamp decreases from 15% to 10%.
Augments
Buffs
- Best Friends I AS and Armor – Increased from 10 to 12
- Rolling for Days I – Increased the number of rerolls to 9 from 8. It can now also appear in 3-2 and 4-2.
- Extended Play – Grants two gold whenever a Punk champion is 2-starred.
- Heroic Grab Bag – Increases gold drop from 2 to 4.
- Ramping Rhythm – Increases the starting stacks from 3 to 4.
- Return on Investment – Lessens the rerolls needed to get the crown from 18 to 16.

Nerfs
- Cybernetic Bulk I/II/III HP – Reduced from 222/333/555 to 200/300/500.
- Help is on the Way – needs to 8 turns to activate instead of 6.

- Crash Test Dummies – decreases the stun duration from 2 seconds to 1.25. Their initial jump has been delayed until after the initial engagement.
- Expose Weakness – decreases the shred and sunder from 40% to 30%.
- Little Buddies – decreases the HP bonus from 90 to 75.
- Teaming Up II – only appears during 4-2.
- Three’s A Crowd – decreases HP per 3-cost unit from 80 to 75.
Changes
- Consistency is no longer available.
- Submit to the Pit – The benefits are based on the number of nearby allies instead of enemies at the start of combat. The bonus stats have been decreased from 5 to 3.
- Binary Airdrop – now specifies that it will grant recommended items for the unit.
Items
Buffs
- Adaptive Helm – To make this item a viable tank or AP equipment, Riot has increased its Front Row Armor and MR from 35 to 40 and its Back Row AP bonus from 15 to 20.
- Archangel’s Staff – AA takes too long for players to feel its effect, so the AP increase per 5 seconds ramps up from 25 to 30.
- Bloodthirster – BT now provides 15 AP to make it viable to magic casters.
- Dragon’s Claw – Dragon’s Claw increases its bonus HP from 5% to 10%.
- Evenshroud – Evenshroud feels more of a debuff item than a tank one, so devs increased its armor and MR for 10 seconds from 20 to 25.
- Gargoyle Stoneplate – Gargoyle now grants 100 HP to make it more appealing as a tank item.
- Hextech Gunblade – Gunblade only works for specific units, so the base AP and AD have been ramped up to 10 to 15 to make it more viable for others.
- Ionic Spark – Ionic Spark needs to improve its tanking capabilities, so devs added 200 HP to its bonuses.
- Jeweled Gauntlet – JG receives a slit tap by increasing its AP from 30 to 35.
- Morellonomicon – Morello has been nonexistent for most of the set, so it’s receiving a bit of love by getting an additional 15% Attack Speed.
Nerfs
- Blue Buff – BB has been too oppressive, especially on units like Ezreal and Ahri. The bonus damage on takedown gets downgraded from 10% to 8% to make it less dominating.
- Red Buff – Red Buff became a vital carry item instead of utility equipment. Its bonus damage was whittled down from 8% to 6% to make it less oppressive.
Changes
- Rabaddon’s Death Cap – RBD needs some slight balancing, so its base AP is reduced from 60 to 50, and its bonus damage increased from 8% to 20%.
- True Damage Emblem – Carriers no longer receive the Bling Bonus.
Traits
Nerfs
- Country – Since the trait’s emblem became craftable, a Nerf is needed to ensure its balance. Dreadsteed bonus armor and MR downgrades from 0/20/60 to 0/15/60.
- Pentakill – A completed synergy for this trait is too oppressive, even if it’s not regularly played. The bonus damage decreases from 110% to 99%.
- True Damage – 9 TD has dominated the meta and is too strong on many levels. Devs decided to nerf the bonus true damage from 125% to 99% to scale down its power.
Changes
- K/DA – K/DA feels too lackluster during mid-game. The bonus max HP, AD, and AP have been altered from 10/15/22/50 to 9/15/24/40 to help stabilize the comp around mid-stages.
- Superfan – Zigg’s SF item has been changed to Shojin to help him cast more.
These are the latest changes from the long-awaited TFT patch. The meta will likely change, as the recent changes will impact the current True Damage and Sentinel Ahri comps. 8-bit and Country might find a resurgence in use due to the changes, but we will have to see how effective these buffs will be.
