Dragon’s Dogma 2 Endings
The game’s outcome will rely on a decision during the last critical part of the stage. While it might seem boring that none of your previous actions will impact your story’s conclusion, it allows you to explore the whole game to your heart’s content. The opportunity to decide the ending comes during your final confrontation with The Dragon. Once you finally face the Wyrm, he will let you determine if you stay and fight or run away and savor your empty kingdom.
Only two endings will be available during this initial interaction: Bad and Good Ending. Meanwhile, you can only pursue the True Ending if you choose the latter option. Here is how you can unlock each outcome in Dragon’s Dogma 2:
How to Unlock The Choice Quest
Before you can face The Dragon that kickstarted your journey, you must finish The Guardian Gigantus quest. The last mission for this MSQ will make you face the false Arisen after meeting with Phaesus. After you finish this sequence, the Legacy mission will begin.
You can now make your way atop the Moonglint Tower to interact with The Dragon. Unfortunately, the great Wyrm will be seen clutching your closest companion in its claws. Your decision in this interaction will decide your future and the fate of the pawn with the highest relationship score.
How to Unlock Dragon’s Dogma 2 Bad Ending
Upon confronting the Dragon atop the Moonglint Tower, you will choose to flee the battle. All you need to do is walk away from the Wyrm, and then he will ask you to confirm your decision. You should note that choosing this option will condemn your loved one to be sacrificed to the Dragon. Afterward, a cutscene will roll, showing the Arisen on the throne after becoming Sovran. When they finally become the ruler, they will look miserable and alone, and you will be prompted to reload your savings.
How to Unlock Dragon’s Dogma 2 Good Ending
Upon confronting the Dragon atop the Moonglint Tower, you will choose to face it in combat. When you accept the conditions for the fight, the Dragon will offer you a ride to your final battlefield. Once you slay the Wyrm, you will return to Vernworth, where the people will celebrate your victory. Credits will start rolling while you walk down the aisle of your throne room.
How to Unlock Dragon’s Dogma 2 True Ending
Upon confronting the Dragon atop the Moonglint Tower, you will choose to face him in battle, but you won’t reach the battlefield when you decide to unlock the True Ending. While riding on the Wyrm’s back, you must crawl carefully to its underbelly and towards its chest. Upon reaching its heart, you will use the Empowered Godsbane Blade, and a prompt will ask if you want to use it on Yourself. Doing so will cause you and the Dragon to crash into the water.
After falling into the water, several cutscenes will be played, and the game will introduce you to a world that is starkly different from the one in Dragon’s Dogma. The unchosen world will feature an alternate timeline in which you must spend several hours. Eventually, You will meet up with your central pawn and slay several dragons throughout the continent. Here are the features of the unchosen world:
- Enemies become more powerful
- The map becomes more corrupted as time pass
- All Portcrystals will become accessible
- Oxcarts won’t be available
- Both small enemies and bosses will drop Ferrystones
- Higher quality Wyrmslife Crystal exchanges become available
- Dying will respawn you at the last place you rested or where the day started
The main feature of this alternate timeline is the continuous ruination of the map. You only have a set period to fulfill the conditions. Once the timer is up, you must summon the Wyrm again to return to the regular timeline. After witnessing this, you will be forced to enter New Game+ mode.
Note: If you spend too much time idling by and don’t progress in the unchosen world, you won’t unlock the True Ending.
You Can Unlock Both the Good and True Ending
You can trigger both the Good and True Ending after slaying the Dragon. Once you have finally claimed your seat as the Sovran, you can go back to fight the Wyrm again by interacting with Pathfinder in the throne room. Doing so will allow you to go for the True Ending route.
Can You Alter the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Endings?
The three endings will remain the same regardless of your choices in previous quests. You can only affect who the Dragon will be clutching during The Choice. The Wyrm will automatically hold the NPC you have the most affinity with during the final confrontation.
