Diablo 4: Where to Get Living Steel and How to Use It

Living Steel Drop Locations
This material can drop from world events, slain Elites and Treasure Goblins. However, the most efficient way to get Living Steel is by participating in Helltides and farming enough Aberrant Cinders. You can then spend these Aberrant Cinders to open the Tortured Gift of Living Steel. This specific chest will cost you 300 Aberrant Cinders, and you’re guaranteed at least 1 Living Steel per chest.
Every Helltide lasts for 1 hour, with a 5-minute intermission between them. Make sure that you start at the beginning of the Helltide to make the most of your Aberrant Cinder farm. Killing overworld monsters and completing events are your best methods to earning enough for opening one Tortured Gift of Living Steel.
What is the use of Living Steel?
This material is used to summon Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint. You can find his summoning altar in the Hall of the Penitent. Be aware that the material cost depends on the World Tier. 2 Living Steel are required for World Tier 3, and 4 for Tier 4. Grigoire will primarily use Lightning-based attacks, so make sure you stock up on any Lightning Resistance elixirs and gems.
Grigoire has his own boss loot pool and will drop the following Uniques when slain:
- Penitent Greaves
- Gloves of the Illuminator
- Staff of Lam Esen
- Iceheart Brais
- Ancients’ Oath
- Battle Trance
- Rage of Harrogath
- Ramaladni’s Magnum Opus
- The Butcher’s Cleaver
- Grasp of Shadow
- Windforce
- Word of Hakan
- Blood Artisan’s Cuirass
- Greaves of the Empty Tomb
- Howl from Below
- Insatiable Fury
- Hunter’s Zenith
- The Butcher’s Cleaver
- Waxing Gibbous
