What To Expect in Valorant’s Episode 9 Act 3

Valorant has launched their new Act for Episode 9. Act 3 comes with a new battle pass, map and agent changes, and a new premium bundle.

New Agent Changes

Episode 9 Act 3 will come with a few changes to some fan-favorite agents to balance them out in your matches. Here are all the agents getting changes in the new Act.

Gekko

Gekko has received changes to his overall abilities. First up the game has made tweaks to put pressure on picking up Gekko’s Globules, reducing the time from 20 seconds to 15. Not only that, but the time to reclaim his Globules will go from 1 second to 1.5.

Another change coming to Gekko is that his signature ability Dizzy will be active for 1 second instead of 1.5 after being thrown. The game also changed Dizzy’s targeting algorithm to be more reliable, and the goop flash will also blind the minimap of affected players.

Besides that, Wingman will get an increase in its concuss area, going from 45 degrees to 65. When Wingman turns into a Globule after planting Spike, the game has made a unique visual for it. Lastly, Thrash’s Ultimate Points will increase from 7 to 8.

Yoru

Yoru will also get significant changes to his Fakeout clone. Previously, various abilities weren’t showing their effects on the clone, which made it easier to distinguish clones from the real Yoru. Here are some abilities that will now affect Yoru’s Fakeout clone.

  • Blind abilities like Vyse’s Arc Rose and Gekko’s Dizzy.
  • Vyse’s voice line, which notifies players she has blinded an enemy, will work on the clone.
  • Cypher’s Neural Theft will now show the clone’s location.
  • Clove’s Meddle will show a decay effect on the clone.

Jett and Skye

Jett’s Tailwind and Skye’s Trailblazer will both receive small changes in Ascent. These abilities will now break through windows and continue their movement to the other side instead of stopping at them.

New Map Updates

New Glitch Map in Team Deathmatch

The new Glitch map will be added to the Team Deathmatch map rotation. This map will be the 5th map added to TDM and will take place in a glitch-out version of the Maxbot arena. This map will only be playable for the Team Deathmatch game mode.

New Map Rotations

There are changes in the new Act coming to the Map Rotation for the Competitive Queue. Icebox and Lotus will be out of the map rotation, and Pearl and Split will return to the Competitive Queue.

New Sunset Map Update

Valorant has changed Sunset’s B site and reworked it to address its defensibility. Changes were made to B Main, B Main Exterior, B Site, B Site Back, B Boba, and Mid Courtyard. The changes were made to make it easier for retakers to enter the site, but still be able to play post-plant for the attackers.

New Battle Pass and New Bundle

With a new Act comes a new Battle Pass. You’ll need to pay 1,000 Valorant Points to unlock the Premium Battle Pass, which comes with gun skins, player cards, buddies, and sprays. Here’s a list of all the skins to look out for in the Battle Pass.

Torque Collection

Valorant will also release a new Premium Skin collection, Doombringer, at the start of the new Act. The collection is part of the Exclusive tier of weapon skins, and it features a fiery and metallic gears aesthetic similar to the Prelude to Chaos and Aemondir Collection.

Here are all the weapons coming in the Doombringer Collection:

  • Doombringer Battleaxe
  • Doombringer Phantom
  • Doombringer Odin
  • Doombringer Judge
  • Doombringer Sheriff

The Doombringer Collection will have 4 levels to upgrade and have 3 other variants coming in Red, Blue, and Green. The inspect animation shows the gears of the weapon revving up and spinning with plenty of sparks. This will be the first skin Collection featuring Battleaxe as a melee. The price of the collection has not been shown but expect it to be the same as any Exclusive tier weapon skin.

Episode 9 Act 3 is now live along with the new changes and the new Doombringer Collection will be released on October 24 for the Americas and October 25 for Asia-Pacific, Oceania, and EMEA.
