Do I Need Diablo 4 DLC for Season 7: Season of Witchcraft
The Season of Witchcraft is live, and it’s a great time to return to Diablo 4. Players can still enjoy the newest season even if they don’t have the Vessels of Hatred DLC. However, there will be some limitations for those without the expansion entering the latest update. Fortunately, you can still enjoy most of the occult even without it.

Diablo 4 Season 7: Season of Witchcraft
Diablo 4 Season 7 introduces many new things to Sanctuary, which mainly involve the cult of Hawezar. And with it, a whole new questline, which involves players helping the witches of the swamp recover heads after the Tree of Whispers was robbed. The game will introduce new occult gems and items, while a whole power system will be added for all classes.
This season’s content revolves around the Tree of Whispers and returning its heads. This involves fighting new elite enemies and tapping into different occult powers. Players can gain access to three new fields of witchcraft, which are additional skills you can use on top of your existing build. You can tap into this arcane power by helping out the witches and enhancing them even further by returning heads to the Tree of Whispers.
Do You Need the Vessels of Hatred Expansion for Season 7
You don’t need to buy the Diablo 4 VoH Expansion to play the latest updates. Similar to Season 6, Season of Witchcraft will also feature content only accessible via the Vessels of Hatred. Several power runs are only available to DLC holders, so if those are of interest to you, you’ll need to buy VoH. However, the bulk of this season is playable for all.
Season 7 will also introduce new Ritual and Invocation Runes, only available to Vessel of Hatred holders. If you want to experience this feature, again, you’ll need to buy the DLC. Otherwise, Season of Witchcraft is entirely playable with or without it.
