Complete BO6 Patch Notes for Season 2: New Maps, Challenges and Content
Season 2 is bringing new content to Black Ops 6, with the most notable being The Tomb for Zombies, Dealership, and Bounty for Multiplayer and sweeping changes to their anti-cheat software. We’ll list every new change that comes with Season 2’s arrival and what you can look forward to.
Table of Contents
New Multiplayer and Zombies Maps
As expected, there will be three new 6v6 maps: Bounty, Lifeline, and Dealership. Bounty will be set in a skyscraper penthouse with close-quarter ranges inside and larger sightlines outside, Dealership will feature garages with medium ranges and the Lifeline map will be a lot like the classic Hijacked map from Black Ops 3.
As for Zombies, The Tomb will be an underground map and a sequel to the Citadelle des Mortes map. This map features a new Perk-a-Cola, Gobblegum, and weapons. Death Perception will highlight all zombies behind walls while the Staff of Ice makes a return for this map.
New Multiplayer Game Modes
- Overdrive
- A twist on Team Deathmatch where players earn Stars by racking up kills. Gaining Stars unlocks new abilities that help the kill streak keep going. Dying while having Stars resets your progress back to zero. The first team to reach the maximum number of Stars wins the match.
- Gun Game
- The classic CoD game mode is where all players start with the same weapon. Kills change the weapon to a higher tier, with the first player to get kills with all weapons becoming the victor.
- Third Wheel Gunfight
- Couples Dance Off
- 2v2 variation of Faceoff modes
Season 2 Weapons, Attachments, and Perks
New guns and other goodies will be part of the battle pass this season, with one as an event reward for players who can put in the time. You can expect these to be available for both Multiplayer and Zombies mode.
- PPSh-41
- Full-auto submachine gun. Fast fire rate with impressive damage and high recoil. Moderate handling.
- Cypher 091
- Full-auto assault rifle. It has a slower rate of fire balanced by superb handling and excellent mobility.
- Feng 82
- Full-auto light machine gun. Very slow rate of fire with great damage and handling.
- TR2
- Semi-auto marksman rifle. Great rate of fire and respectable handling.
- Crossbow Attachment
- This attachment allows the Crossbow to load three explosive-tipped bolts that detonate shortly after impact.
- AEK-973 Full Auto Mod
- Allows the AEK-973 to be fired in full auto but significantly increases the upward recoil of the weapon.
- Tanto .22 SMG Binary Trigger
- Converts the weapon to a semi-automatic that fires whenever the trigger is pulled and released, but disables any Barrel and Underbarrel attachments.
- War Machine
- A burst-fire grenade launcher loaded with powerful impact grenades, available for both Multiplayer and Zombies.
- Slipstream Perk
- Increases base sprinting speed at the cost of disabling Tactical Sprint
New Operators
Season 2 will feature two new Operators as part of the battle pass and another one to be added mid-season:
- Vortex (BlackCell, Crimson One, Launch)
- Nocturne (Battle Pass, Crimson One, Launch)
- The Terminator (Bundle, Crimson One, In-Season)
Ricochet Anti-Cheat
Black Ops 6 will see some new improvements to the anti-cheat software, including features like enhanced detection models for cheating behavior, stricter account trust and hardware identification to target repeat offenders and new tools to combat dishonest behavior such as playing with cheaters or attempting to spam report innocent players. More anti-cheat measures will be added once Season 3 arrives, so expect a fairer matchmaking experience.
Camo Challenge QoL Updates
Many players have requested UI changes regarding Weapon Challenges to make them easier to track. These changes serve to make the grind a little bit more manageable:
- Manually track up to 10 Camo and 10 Calling Card Challenges.
- Untracked Slots (out of the 10) will automatically display Camo and Calling Card Challenges closest to completion.
- The Top Tracked (or Near Complete) Camo and Calling Card Challenge can be seen in the Lobby by cycling the Daily Challenge display panel The Top Tracked (or Near Complete) Camo and Calling Card Challenge can also be seen in-game by bringing up the Options Menu and cycling the Daily Challenge display panel.
- When tracking a Camo, the Weapon’s next Camo Challenge is automatically tracked and displayed. You do not need to re-track each individual Camo Challenge as you progress through Camos for a single Weapon.
- Access the “Tracked & Near Complete” list for Camos and Calling Cards from the Lobby panel.
- The Calling Card Challenges “Tracked & Near Complete” list can also be accessed via the Calling Card Challenge menu.
- Addressed an issue where XP would not be rewarded Armory Challenges before opening the Armory for the first time.
- Players can now equip any unlocked Special Camos to a Weapon as soon as they’ve unlocked any 5 Military Camos for that weapon. Previously, players needed to unlock all 9 Military Camos for at least 1 mode to equip Special Camos.
- Challenge progress bars now appear below Special Camo and Mastery Camo swatches on the Camo tab in the Gunsmith.
- The currently equipped Camo will now be highlighted by default when entering the Camo tab in the Gunsmith (if applicable).
