Complete Dynasty Warriors: Origins Ultimate Weapons List and How to Unlock
Ultimate weapons in Dynasty Warriors: Origins are some of the hardest weapons to unlock in the game. You’ll need to beat the game once and complete secret challenges in Ultimate mode to acquire one of each. To make things easier for you, we’ll list the location of each Ultimate weapon and guide you on how to clear these challenges without any issues.

Lurking Luan (Sword Guide)
To unlock this weapon, you’ll need to disband Zhang Bao’s large force within 15 minutes of the mission in “The Final Battle Against the Yellow Turbans” on Ultimate Warrior Difficulty.
To speedrun the main forces and reach the final stronghold, ignore the Yellow Turban ambushes and try to clear a path for your allies until you’re within reach of the two enemy bases at the upper right corner of the map. Capture these two bases as soon as possible to build your forces’ morale and make the push easier. Once you capture both bases, immediately head straight to Zhang Liang and defeat him ASAP. Do not use your Musou gauge yet until you reach Cao Cao’s charge.
Once you make it to Zhang Bao’s main force, book it straight to Zhang Bao to initiate a duel with him. Deal enough damage to him to start the “Veil of Mists” event. Destroy the sorcery pot and go straight to defeating more enemy officers so that you can quickly disperse his large force. If you beat him before the timer expires, you’ll gain the Ultimate Sword.
Flying Luan (Spear Guide)
For this weapon, you’ll need to defeat the officer Qu Yi within 3 minutes in “The Battle of Jieqiao” on Ultimate Warrior difficulty.
When starting the mission, ignore your allies’ main force and ride straight to Qu Yi. He can be found in the upper left portion of the central battlefield area on the map. It’s best that you bring the most powerful consumables for this part since you’ll be alone in the fight with Qu Yi. Use your bodyguards for this fight, too since Tactics will help a lot in dealing damage.
Singing Luan (Wheels Guide)
This weapon requires you to defeat Liu Biao in “The Battle of Xiangyang” on Ultimate Warrior Difficulty.
Fortunately, there is no time limit for this challenge, but you will need to make sure that Sun Ce stays alive for this mission. To rush this mission, bring your bodyguards to the main stronghold on the upper left corner of the map. They’ll break open the castle gates so you can directly challenge Liu Biao in a fight.
Striking Luan (Fists Guide)
The challenge for this weapon is to defeat Sun Ce in “The Battle of Xiaopei” on Ultimate Warrior.
Much like the Flying Luan challenges, you can ignore all other objectives and ride immediately to Sun Ce’s position. He can be found at the enemy base in the center of the map, but if not, you can also find him on the rightmost base.
Bellowing Luan (Twin Pikes Guide)
The challenge for this weapon is to defeat Zhang Liao in “The Battle of Xiapi” without using the flood attack on Ultimate Warrior difficulty.
While there is no time limit for this mission, Xun You and Jia Xu reaching the floodgate is your time limit before you fail this challenge. This part is difficult since Zhang Liao is surrounded by enemy soldiers and is accompanied by Lu Bu, so make sure you’re sufficiently leveled and geared with a prior Ultimate Weapon to make this challenge a little easier.
Conquering Luan (Crescent Blade)
To obtain this weapon, you’ll need to defeat Guan Yu before he returns to Xiapi Castle in “The Assault On Xiapi” on Ultimate Warrior difficulty.
Like the other challenges, you can immediately ride straight to Guan Yu, who can be found guarding the front gate of Xiapi Castle.
Whirling Luan (Lance Guide)
For this one, you’ll need to defeat Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun within 11 minutes during “The Battle of Changban” on Ultimate Warrior Difficulty.
Both Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun can be found in Changban Bridge after Cao Cao’s reinforcements arrive. To reach them quickly, ride straight to the base on the right and capture it ASAP. Once the base is captured, Zhang Fei will remain at Changban Bridge. Defeat him and immediately pursue Liu Bei. While chasing Liu Bei, take the small paths immediately whenever the main path is blocked by boulders. Once you reach Liu Bei, you must defeat Zhao Yun first before beating Liu Bei and finishing the mission.
Rampaging Luan (Halberd Guide)
To claim this weapon, you must defeat Lu Bu in “The Battle of Hu Lao Gate” on Ultimate Warrior difficulty.
There’s no time limit for this mission, so feel free to defeat the smaller officers and push your army toward Lu Bu’s position. Once he arrives after you defeat Jia Xu’s large force, capture the last two bases near Hu Lao Gate to surround Lu Bu. After dealing some damage to his health, do pursue Lu Bu when he charges toward Liu Bei’s position so that Guan Yu and Zhang Fei can join you to make the fight easier.
Thrashing Luan (Staff Guide)
You’ll need to beat “The Battle of Chibi” within 21 minutes of the mission on Ultimate Warrior difficulty.
Take the rightmost path when starting the mission and try to take all the bases near the main camp. Next, bring your bodyguards and have them break open the doors to the main camp, all while defeating any officers on the right side of the battlefield. Once the main encampment has been breached, clear out the base of all the officers. When the ships start burning, immediately head to Cao Cao’s position and clear the left path of the ships for his retreat. Upon reaching the shore of your home base, Zhou Yu’s large force will appear. Fight the large force alone and hold back any enemy officers that might reach Cao Cao’s retreat so that you can clear the mission in under 21 minutes.
Soaring Luan (Podao Guide)
Earning this weapon requires you to defeat Li Dian and Yu Jin before they can stage the fire attack during “The Battle of Bowangpo” on Ultimate Warrior difficulty.
Like all other requirements, you can skip all objectives and ride straight to Li Dian and Yu Jin. Both of them can be found on the upper right portion of the map in the open area outside their main camp. There’ll be a massive force of soldiers and other officers that’ll join them in the fight, so be prepared for a big fight.
