Schedule 1: How to Automate Drug Production
In Schedule 1, you start as a small-time pusher doing all the growing, mixing, and selling by yourself, which can be hard work. Once you start earning more money and have room to grow your business, you can eventually hire employees to do all of the work for you. Making your business self-sustaining requires figuring out the best NPC tasks, so we’ll show you how to automate drug production in Schedule 1.

Hiring Workers
In order to get started, you’ll need to complete the quest “Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy,” which requires you to visit the warehouse that only opens from 6 pm – 6 am. After speaking to all the vendors there, you can speak to Manny about hiring employees. These employee roles are important to your business’ day-to-day operations:
- Botanist
- Grows and harvests all plants
- Hiring cost: $1500
- Daily salary: $200
- Chemist
- Mixes drugs and processes them
- Hiring cost: $2000
- Daily salary: $300
- Handler
- Moves items around the warehouse toward storage
- Hiring cost: $1500
- Daily salary: $200
- Cleaner
- Removes all trash in the area
- Hiring cost: $1500
- Daily salary: $100
After hiring your employees, you’ll need to build beds for them and assign them where to sleep. When you’re done, you can assign them tasks through the Clipboard. To pay a worker’s salary, go to their respective bed and interact with the briefcase next to it.
Note: You can pay a worker’s salary a few days in advance so that you don’t have to revisit every day for their pay.
Best Employee Task Lists
While workers automate tasks for you, they’ll still need you to supply them with materials like seeds, soil, gasoline, mixing materials, and baggies to keep the place running. Not only that, they’ll need multiple workstations to get their tasks done. This flowchart of tasks will keep things running smoothly.
Botanist Task List
- Assign the Botanist to a shelf with seeds and soil supplies.
- Hold Shift and click on all available pots.
- Once a Botanist is assigned, press E on your pot to manage it
- Select a seed type to automatically plant
- Select additives to affect pot yield
- Set the pot destination to a storage rack
Chemist Task List
- Assign the Chemist to a chemistry station.
- Press E on the assigned chemistry lab
- Select a drug recipe
- Set the station’s destination to a Lab Oven
Handler Task List
- Assign a Handler to a loading station, supply rack, and packaging station
- For routes, set the product shelf as the starting point and the packaging station last.
