Diablo 4 Abyssal Scrolls Farm: Where to Get Them

Diablo 4 Abyssal Scrolls Farm: Where to Get Them
By | August 13th, 2024 | Categories: Diablo

Players tend to focus on farming Infernal Hordes due to how much loot they can get from completing them. These drops can range from high-quality gear to essential summoning materials for Uber Bosses. However, players need an Infernal Compass to open a passage towards Hell and challenge the Demonic Army. Unfortunately, if you want to access higher levels of the Infernal Hordes for better loot, you’ll need to upgrade your compasses with Abyssal Scrolls, which are hard to come by. This guide will show you how to farm this enhancement material.

What is the Infernal Horde

The Infernal Hordes is end-game content wherein you face multiple waves of the armies of Hell and try to survive until the very end. A Unique Boss fight will occur at the end of the run and defeating it will give you access to the treasure troves that yield a good amount of quality loot. The Infernal Hordes can be fought in several tiers, and the higher you go, the better their drops will be. Of course, each tier means you must face higher-difficulty monsters and bosses with fewer allowable revives. Here are all the tiers and their corresponding content:

  • Tier 1 (Monster Level 60): You gain entry to the Fell Council after five waves, and you get eight revives.
  • Tier 2 (Monster Level 80): You gain entry to the Fell Council after five waves and receive five revives.
  • Tier 3 (Monster Level 100): You gain entry to the Fell Council after five waves, and you get three revives.
  • Tier 4 (Monster Level 120): You gain entry to the Fell Council after six waves, and you get three revives.
  • Tier 5 (Monster Level 140): You gain entry to the Fell Council after seven waves and get three revives.
  • Tier 6 (Monster Level 160): You gain entry to the Fell Council after eight waves, and you get two revives.
  • Tier 7 (Monster Level 180): You gain entry to the Fell Council after nine waves, and you get two revives.
  • Tier 8 (Monster Level 200): You gain entry to the Fell Council after ten waves, and you get two revives.
  • Tier 9 (unknown): This tier will be released after the mid patch of Season 5
  • Tier 10 (unknown): This tier will be released after the mid patch of Season 5

These tiers will require you to use Infernal Compasses to enter them, but only Tier 1 to 3 compasses can be found in Whisper Caches, Helltide Chests, and Nightmare Dungeons. You’ll need to upgrade them from Tier 4 onwards. This is where the importance of Abyssal Scrolls comes in because you can’t enter higher-difficulty Infernal Hordes without this upgrade resource.

Where to Farm Abyssal Scrolls

You can get Abyssal Scrolls by doing Infernal Hordes and looting all the chests, including normal ones during your run and those you can open at the end. However, getting them would help if you were at Torment Level. In addition, you’ll also have to do Tier 2 and Tier 3 runs to increase your chances of getting them. It should be noted that the scrolls don’t have 100% drop rates, so you may have to do the runs multiple times to farm them. It would help if you also grind Infernal Hordes, too, to get Infernal Compasses so that you can hit two birds with one stone.

You can increase your chances of getting Abyssal Scrolls if you invest your Smoldering Ashes in the Season Blessings. In particular, if you activate Urn of Abyssal Knowledge, you receive up to 40% increased chances of getting Abyssal Scrolls from the Spoils of Hell chests in the Infernal Horde runs. It’s not 100%, but it’s still worth it. You can also get these items from The Mother’s Gift redeems, but they’re one-time instances and not farmable.

Another method of farming Abyssal Scrolls would be dismantling Infernal Compasses, but getting one will depend on the level and tier of the compass you’re disassembling. We recommend dismantling only the compasses you get from Tier 2 and above in the Torment level World. Those from Tier 1 might not drop any from the disenchanting process.

How Do You Farm Infernal Compasses

Infernal Compasses can be obtained via Infernal Hordes and even No Name Dungeons, which you find in the overworld. You only get Tier 1 compasses at the base level until you level up your World Tier. Upon reaching Torment Tier 2 and above, you increase your chances of getting higher-ranked Infernal Compasses. We advise players to focus on farming Tier 2 and 3 Infernal Hordes for farming Abyssal Scrolls to profit from their runs.

How to Use Abyssal Scrolls on Infernal Compasses

Upgrading Infernal Compasses is easy; you don’t need to visit any NPCs. All you need to do is left-click your Abyssal Scroll and use it on the compass. We should note that the upgrade process is irreversible, and you cannot lower the tier once you do so.
