Diablo 4 Season 5 makes Infernal Horde even more essential as it’s your primary source of various materials. These fundamental things can range from powerful sets to Infernal Compasses. Gamers need to farm this content to gain access to Uber Boss farms and higher content scaling. With the new changes from Season 5, the Infernal Hordes became even more profitable.

Infernal Hordes Overview

The Infernal Horde is an end-game content that takes place directly in Hell. Your objective is to survive an onslaught of waves and slay the bosses at the end of each run. If you defeat the demons by the end, you can open Infernal Chests, which can yield rewards ranging from Unique items to essential currencies.

After fighting several waves, you can face the Fell Council, which scales depending on the tier. The number of waves increases depending on the tier, which scales the difficulty and level requirement. Here are all the levels in the Infernal Hordes:

  • Tier 1 (Monster Level 60): You gain entry to the Fell Council after five waves, and you get eight revives.
  • Tier 2 (Monster Level 80): You gain entry to the Fell Council after five waves and receive five revives.
  • Tier 3 (Monster Level 100): You gain entry to the Fell Council after five waves, and you get three revives.
  • Tier 4 (Monster Level 120): You gain entry to the Fell Council after six waves, and you get three revives.
  • Tier 5 (Monster Level 140): You gain entry to the Fell Council after seven waves and get three revives.
  • Tier 6 (Monster Level 160): You gain entry to the Fell Council after eight waves, and you get two revives.
  • Tier 7 (Monster Level 180): You gain entry to the Fell Council after nine waves, and you get two revives.
  • Tier 8 (Monster Level 200): You gain entry to the Fell Council after ten waves, and you get two revives.

Season 5 will introduce Tier 9 and Tier 10 after the mid-season patch. Details about these additional waves will be revealed once they go live, but we can assume that we’ll face more difficult enemies and fight for longer.

How to Enter the Infernal Hordes

Players won’t be able to access the Infernal Hordes content until they reach higher World Tiers because they need an item that mainly drops from World Tier 3 and above. This item is the Infernal Compass . The T1 version drops from T3, while the Tier 2 and Tier 3 compasses come from the Tier 4 World.

The Tier of the Infernal Hordes will depend on the Compass you are using, meaning if you use a T5 version, you’ll enter a T5 Infernal run. Unnamed Dungeons in the Overworld can only drop Tier 1 to Tier 3 versions, and you’ll need to upgrade these using Abyssal Scrolls. Fortunately, the compasses also drop from Infernal Hordes, which can drop higher tier ones depending on their difficulty.

Upon finishing your runs, you can open the Spoils of Hell chests at the end. However, you need 60 Burning Aether to open the containers, which you can get from farming Helltides. Make sure you have enough of this resource, so you don’t waste your runs not being able to open the chests.
