Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree trailer release announced
Elden Ring’s official Twitter account has revealed its schedule to release the gameplay trailer for its first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. According to the tweet, this trailer will be released today at 15:00 UTC, which will show some new gameplay elements that will be added to Elden Ring. The gaming community is abuzz with plenty of hype and speculation in equal measure. Keep an eye out for more news on Shadow of Erdtree and what new things are coming to the game.

Elden Ring’s History
Elden Ring was released on February 25, 2022, and received highly critical acclaim, even winning the title of 2022’s Game of the Year award. Fromsoftware has been the pioneer of a new genre of games with their Souls series, inspiring a swathe of games built around their formula. Elden Ring took the many lessons from Fromsoft’s previous games and added an open-world element that many gamers have praised as a bold and unexpected direction to take with the genre. With such acclaim, it’s no surprise that hype has been generated for an extension of Elden Ring’s fun formula, along with more lore to discover.
Shadow of the Erdtree Speculation
A year after Elden Ring’s release, Fromsoft provided the key art for the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. In that same year, Fromsoftware’s other project, Armored Core 6, was released in August, which was 6 months after releasing the DLC cover. From what we know of the DLC, this may be a massive expansion based on the development time. We can expect this to have the same amount of content as other Fromsoftware expansions like Dark Souls 3’s Ashes of Ariandel, Ringed City and Bloodborne’s Old Hunters DLC.
New weapons, armor, spells, locations, NPCs, and questlines can also be expected for Shadow of the Erdtree. Along with new bosses to fight, there may even be a new ending added to the game if it follows like the other expansions. Based on the key art, one of Elden Ring’s major characters in the lore, Miquella, may be a potential character that we will see firsthand in the DLC’s story.
