10 New MMORPGs Coming in 2025 and Beyond
As 2025 is fast approaching, we have some more MMOs coming that many new and old players alike are hyped up for. Many upcoming projects are looking very promising, which is why we’re listing, in no particular order, what we believe are the top 10 MMORPGs you should definitely keep an eye out for in 2025 and beyond.

Path of Exile 2
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox One
- Developer: Grinding Gear Games
- Release Window: Early Access Dec. 6, 2024
Path of Exile is one of the ARPG staples in the industry, with many considering it one of the biggest competitors to the Diablo franchise. Grinding Gear Games has shown a lot of gameplay and loot that improves upon the first game’s progression systems like the Passive Skill Tree. Not only that, PoE 2 will be a standalone game, meaning that new players can jump right in without needing any context from PoE 1.
Corepunk
- Platforms: PC
- Developer: Artificial Core
- Release Window: Early Access Nov. 26, 2024. The full release is expected at the end of 2025.
Corepunk’s gameplay is quite unique. Its combat resembles other top-down MOBAs like Dota 2 and League of Legends, but it also takes note of their itemization systems. The game is shaping up to be an addictive MMO with some of the most engaging PvE and PvP fights seen amongst others in the genre.
ArcheAge Chronicles
- Platforms: PC, PS, Xbox
- Developer: XL Games
- Release Window: First half or Summer of 2026.
A sequel to the classic ArcheAge, Chronicles seeks to shift towards a single-player narrative while still maintaining its genre-defining Guild vs Guild PvP battles. XL Games promises a seamless open world and a town-building system for players to earn currency and resources, which can be exciting for gamers looking to sink their teeth into.
The Quinfall

- Developer: Vawraek Technology
- Release Window: Closed Beta Jan. 30, 2025.
Created by the Turkish studio, Vawraek Technology, The Quinfall is looking to have the largest world in the MMO industry, boasting over 2,016 square kilometers. This game offers gamers an opportunity to explore its massive open world to discover hidden dungeons and engage in large-scale PvE and PvP battles.
Project LLL
- Platforms: PC, PS, Xbox
- Developer: NCSoft
- Release Window: TBA
NCSoft’s upcoming third-person shooter, Project LLL, looks to be a promising MMO, with its cool sci-fi aesthetics, gunplay, and vehicle combat over a 30-kilometer map. Like many other shooters, the game will have many unique guns and gear to chase and classes will use unique gadgets like barrier walls, shoulder-mounted rockets, and jetpacks for faster traversal.
Lord of the Rings MMO

- Developer: Middle-earth Enterprises, Amazon Games
- Release Window: TBA
Spearheaded by Amazon Games, the Lord of the Rings MMO takes many of the lessons learned from their previous project, New World, and sets it on Tolkien’s Middle Earth. We expect this MMO to have all the features of New World like a weapon class system, player-owned towns, and a story based on Tolkien’s expansive legendarium.
Soulframe

- Developer: Digital Extremes
- Release Window: TBA
Digital Extremes has finally expanded beyond its main entry Warframe, going into an entirely new direction and a whole different style. Soulframe takes on the sword and board fantasy with a touch of Warframe’s aesthetics, and its combat gameplay reminiscent of FromSoftware’s Souls games. Soulframe is sure to take the PvE MMO approach in a completely novel way and will make for a fun experience.
Chrono Odyssey

- Developer: Chrono Studio
- Release Window: Q4 2025
Chrono Odyssey is a fantasy MMO by Chrono Studio where players must travel through time to fight against various monsters and villains. Based on the gameplay footage for Chrono Odyssey, time manipulation using the Chronotector will be a core aspect of its action-based combat, like stopping time and rewinding while in the middle of a fight. With its special take on combat, Chrono Odyssey may be a promising new entry for next year.
League of Legends MMO

Riot Games has expressed its interest multiple times to develop an MMORPG set in League of Legends’ Runeterra. As Riot expands its media coverage beyond its signature MOBA and Valorant, the League of Legends MMO may see a successful launch, especially with the recent praise that the Arcane TV series has gained. However, the game has seen delays, and recently, Riot co-founder Marc Merrill said that the project has been “reset” and won’t likely appear for “likely several years.” Riot hopes that the MMO will take a completely new direction, unlike its other contemporaries.
Aion 2
- Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox
- Developer: NCSoft
- Release Window: 2nd half of 2025
Aion 2 is a prequel set hundreds of years before the original Aion took place. With the lack of the original game’s factions, Aion 2 will focus more on expanding its PvE content and scaling its PvP battles down to more team-based battles. Another new aspect of Aion 2 is the introduction of a glide mechanic, where players can explore the open world in a new way.
