All Assassin’s Creed Shadows Choices that Impact Gameplay
Four major choices will influence your gameplay and quests to a certain extent. Only one choice has a minor bearing, so you don’t need to fret too much about other instances. Here are all the Assassin’s Creed Shadows encounters that you’ll need to look for.
Major Choices
Confront Otama or Wakasa (Tea Ceremony Quest)
- Confront Otama: This leads to a chase in the streets until you assassinate Otama. You loot a letter here revealing that Wakasa is the Golden Teppo, leading you to Osaka to kill her.
- Confront Wakasa: Naoe will directly confront Wakasa and find she is the Golden Teppo. You can assassinate her right here.
Note: To get to this choice, you must correct four out of five options in previous interactions within the quest. The correct prompts are as follows:
- Good Evening = State the name you gave to Imai Sokun
- You May Have heard of Me = I’m new to Sakai
- Where did you say you were from? = I didn’t say where I was from
- Bow = Bow Halfway
- Turn the Bowl = Turn bowl right twice
If you choose only three of the five correct ones, you can only confront Otama since Wakasa won’t invite you to her home.
Side with Mitsumune or Not (Heads Will Roll Quest)
- Justice must be served (CANON): The soldiers will be killed, but you gain Yaya’s disapproval.
- Killing them isn’t justice: The soldiers will be killed, but you gain Yaya’s approval, which helps with her recruitment during the quest The Stray Dogs.
Forgive or Punish the Shrine Raiders (The Stray Dogs Quests)
- Forgive the Shrine Raider (CANON): Yaya will forgive the Shrine Raider, and you earn her favor.
- Punish the Shrine Raider: Yaya will forgive the Shrine Raider, but you gain nothing.
Forgive Tetsuo or Take Responsibility (The Stray Dogs Quest)
- Forgive Tetsuo (CANON): Yaya forgives Tetsuo, and you earn her favor, which further helps in her recruitment.
- Take Responsibility: Yaya forgives Tetsuo, but you gain nothing.
Minor Choice
Spare or Kill the Gamemaker (The Butterfly Collector Quest)
- You must pay for your actions: You fight and kill the Gamemaker.
- You must start anew (CANON): You spare the Gamemaker and receive the Butterfly of Benevolence.
Aside from these choices, the rest will only have narrative alterations, such as how NPCs react to you during their dialogues.
