All AC Shadows Romance Options
Assassin’s Creed Shadows lets players find romance in the game, and there are several figures that gamers can start a relationship with. Naoe has three choices, while Yasuke has four. These romance options can spruce up several dialogues and scenarios and impact the narrative. If you want to ensure your characters have a companion, this guide will show you who and how to romance.

All AC Shadows Romance Options
Naoe and Yasuke can engage in romantic relationships but not with each other. Yasuke and Naoe can both enter into a relationship with either a male or female option. Here are all the AC Shadows Romance options.
Naoe
- Gennojo
- Katsuhime
- Koshiro
Yasuke
- Lady Oichi
- Hori Hidesama
- Ibuki
- Rin
AC Shadows follows a similar template as previous Assassin’s Creed titles that allow same-sex romance. You’ll develop your relationship with these people over specific segments and quests. In these moments, you must choose the right options to build a romantic bond between your character and their potential partner.
Naoe Romance
Naoe can simultaneously romance all three options, and there aren’t any clear repercussions. The three choices never interact in the game, so there shouldn’t be any issue. Here is how to romance Gennojo, Katsuhime, and Koshiro:
Romancing Gennojo
- Missing Missive = Fight Gennojo and Retrieve the letter he stole
- Sake and Swords = Choose the “Depends what you’re offering” and “Show me, thief” in dialogues when they appear as prompts.
- Honor Among Thieves = Complete the quest by invading and robbing the scroll Gennojo tells you about in Kyoto. Choose the “I’m keeping it, then” prompt when you talk to him before the mission ends.
- Stolen Hearts = Look for Gennojo northwest of the Hills of Meeting and choose “I’m here for you” during the first dialogue. Pick the “I’d like to embrace you” when it appears as a prompt.
Romancing Katsuhime
- Showdown in Sakamoto = Choose the “I like your teppo” option when you talk to Katsuhime
- Letter from Katsuhime = When offering Katsuhime a place in the league, answer, “It offers time with me.”
- The Tales of Genin = After helping Katsuhime kill the pirates who attacked the family, tell her, “I do enjoy your company,” during your final talk with her.
- Diary of Lady Rokkaku = After you save Katsuhime by carrying her out of the castle, recruit her as a companion by saying, “Yes. Join us.”
- The Jounin Pillow Book: Choose the “Let’s find out” option during the initial conversation and then “Yes. Forever” later.
Romancing Koshiro
- You meet Kashiro during the quest Genzaburo’s Soldiers.
- The Leaf Turns = Choose these prompts when they appear: “We have a special connection,” “I’d like to spend more time with you,” “You must follow your heart,” “Like me.”
Yasuke Romance
Yasuke has four romance options, and you can try romancing all of them at once too as there aren’t clear repercussions for doing so. However, one character has a very short romance story. Here’s how to romance them all:
Romancing Hori Hidesama
- Canon Mode should be off.
- You meet Hori Hidesama during the quest The Betrayer’s.
- The Betrayer’s Quest = choose the “Meeting you was my reward” option after the pursuit.
Romancing Lady Oichi
- An Education = Choose “Some company might be nice” when the prompt appears in the dialogue.
- The Wheel Unmasked = Spare the life of your target at the end of the quest.
- The Wheel Turns = Choose “I miss your smile” during your initial conversation. After talking to her three daughters, choose the “Let’s enjoy the moment” prompt when it appears during the later dialogues.
Note: During The Wheel Turns, deciding whether to leave a dog with the kids or take it with you will not impact the romance progression.
Romancing Ibuki
- You meet Ibuki during the quest Ambush Interrupted.
- Homecoming = Choose “Your mind works in beautiful ways” when the prompt appears.
- Homecoming 2 = Choose “You don’t have to be alone” when the prompt appears and recruit her to the league.
- Homecoming 3 = Choose “Let’s be together in another way” when the prompt appears.
- Putting Down Roots = Choose “I want more than friendship” when the prompt appears.
Romancing Rin
- You meet Rin during the quest Arrow Strike.
- Arrow Strike = Choose “It wasn’t my archery you were testing” when the prompt appears.
- War Horse = Choose “You excel at everything you try” when the prompt appears.
- Ride Into Town = Choose “I would like to kiss you” when the prompt appears.
All of these options must be taken to progress the romance for each character. Missing one might cause you to lose out on future romantic engagements.
