Table of Contents
The Legend of the Sandfish
- Chapter: Play Me Techno
The portal leading to this side story is directly given to you.
Farmlife
Chapter: Streets of Neon
This side story is immediately available right after beating Mr Hammer. Simply grapple over the fence towards the location. The portal leading there should be surrounded by hay bales and vegetables.
Mountain Hike
- Chapter: Big City Life
The portal to Mountain Hike is found on a platform above the rooftop, just before the flying car highway. In order to reach the portal, Mio must enter one of the outhouses, while Zoe picks up the outhouse with Mio inside. Zoe must then throw the outhouse into the platform so that Mio can land near the portal and kick down the ladder.
Train Heist
- Chapter: Lord Evergreen
While in the underground river, Mio must transform into a fish and drag a pole for Zoe to hang on to. Once you reach a patch of solid ground, look for a wall on the left that you can run into. Mio can use the fish form to reach the wall while Zoe can fly with the fairy form towards the wall. At the end of that section, you can find a grapple point. From there, simply follow the path until you see the portal.
Gameshow
- Chapter: Walking Stick of Doom
By the start of this chapter, you will cross a bridge towards a forested area. From there, the path splits into two ways. Take the path on the left marked by the gigantic gameshow stage. From there, navigate through the small parkour section until you reach the portal.
Collapsing Star
- Chapter: Halls of Ice
The path leading to the portal is behind a window that can be smashed open. Mio will need to use her fish form to launch a bud, while Zoe uses her ent form to smash the window with the bud. Once the window is open, you can use the grapple point to reach the parkour section leading towards the side story.
Kites
- Chapter: Toxic Tumblers
The sidestry portal can be found right at the start of the Toxic Tumblers chapter, just at the very end of the tunnel where you start the chapter.
Moon Market
- Chapter: Test Chamber
After completing the Test Chamber, two paths will appear again. Instead of taking the route with the two forcefields, both Mio and Zoe must shoot the red and blue symbols on the wall to open the path on the left. From there, jump through a series of pistons and shoot the two symbols at the end to reach the Moon Market portal.
Notebook
- Chapter: Soaring Desperados
This chapter will provide you with jetpacks. At the start, you should see a large cable with saw blades running down. Jump into the cable and run up. The portal is found on a platform with a small white cottage, left of the cable. The platform will glow with a white aura, so you can’t miss out.
Slopes of War
- Chapter: Water Temple
The main path will lead you to a route with two golden orbs as platforms. Instead of taking that path, take the path on the left, where you should see a platform with a lever on it. One of you should step on the platform and pull the lever to reach the other side. That platform can return by pulling the lever near the archway. The goal is to have both players on the platform with two levers. The portal will be found in the grotto.
Space Escape
- Chapter: Craft Temple
Here, you’ll start inside a cave. Exit the cave and turn right. You should see the portal at the far end of the area. To reach there, both players will need to ride their dragons. The platforming to get there will require some teamwork, as one player must stay behind to activate a gong while another must destroy a chain to lower a platform.
Birthday Cake
- Chapter: Treasure Temple
The final portal to the side story is near the start of this chapter and is hard to miss. Simply follow the path forward until you see a floating island outside to your left. This island is marked with a violet aura and a rainbow overhead and is easy to reach with your dragon mount.
