Avowed Nature vs. Nurture Choice: Agree or Kill Amadio

Some side quests will only offer you two choices in resolving disputes. Avowed’s Nature vs Nurture requires you to kill or agree with Amadio, but one option will seemingly lock you out of all the tremendous rewards. However, if you know some tricks to this side quest, you can quickly get all the drops without any significant scuffle.

Avowed Nature vs Nurture Side Quest
This side quest starts when you talk to Dolina, who you can find northeast of Farmer’s Market in Emerald Stair. She will ask you to investigate her Xaurip problem and resolve the issue. This will lead you to the Fortified Xaurip Camp, wherein you will encounter Amadio. The Hermit will explain that the animantic machines must be destroyed because they’re destroying nature and potentially causing the Dreamscourge.
At this point, your options would be to support Amadio in his choices or kill him. The former lets you resolve everything peacefully, and you get access to one Unique item. The latter will result in a brutal fight, but you can get two unique items. However, there is a trick here where you can gear up and remain peaceful with the camp.
Note: You must finish this side quest before completing the Ancient Soil MSQ. Otherwise, the farmers will move to the old farm with the rest of the NPCs. You can still accept and complete their quests, but their markers are bugged and might not move.
Support Amadio and Lie to Dolina (Best Option)
If you support Amadio, he’ll ask you to tell Dolina to cease the Ranger Patrols. When you return to the farmer, you can lie to her and tell her the problem has been resolved instead of telling her the truth. She will thank you and reward you with the Ring of Pain Amplification. Afterward, you return to Amadio and tell him the Rangers will no longer bother them, prompting him to reward you with the Wolf Boots.
This is the best option to resolve everything peacefully, albeit untruthfully. You won’t have to fight The Hermit to get the two unique items from this quest. Here are the stats for the two.
Wolf Boots
- 10% Dodge Distance
- +1 Constitution
Ring of Pain Amplification
- +15% Critical Damage
Other Choices
Supporting Amadio and telling Dolina the truth by telling him the animantic machines are the problem will only result in a peaceful resolution. You can only get the Wolf Boots from this option since Dolina won’t be willing to give you the Ring of Pain Amplification. On the other hand, killing Amadio will let you loot the Wolf Boots from his body, and Dolina will also give you the ring as a reward. However, you might find the boss fight and camp battle a bit hard, which is the only negative perk of attacking The Hermit.
