Players make their own Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale Mode

It’s been a few weeks since Battlefield 2042 was released on November 19. The newly published game in the popular Battlefield franchise received mixed reviews from critics and players alike. It’s less popular than previous games in the series such as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, the newest addition has certainly had its fair share of issues and some players have been feeling that the game would be better if it had a Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale mode.

DICE hasn’t yet implemented a Battle Royale mode. Battlefield prides itself on its All-Out Warfare type of gameplay. Currently, BF2042 has four game modes. There is the usual point-capture Conquest mode. Breakthrough’s attack and defend battles and BF2042’s newest addition, Hazard Zone. The other mode, which is not an actual game mode, is Battlefield Portal wherein players are allowed to make their own custom maps or games. Though DICE hasn’t shown any interest in introducing a BR game mode for the game, players have taken it upon themselves to create their own version of Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale.

Why does BF2042 not have a Battle Royale mode?

There are already multiple games that have been spawned from the Shooter Battle Royale genre. Games such as Fortnite, PUBG, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone are already popular games in their own right. DICE wants to make the newest installment of the Battlefield series stand out from the rest. That is why they have been focusing on developing and stabilizing the existing game modes they have. However, players who aren’t satisfied with the current game modes haven’t been deterred in their quest to have a Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale.

What are their current modes?

BF2042’s Conquest mode is the simple point-capture game mode. In this game mode, players are separated into two teams which each team having reinforcement points representing how many lives they have. Taking control of certain zones for a period of time reduces the reinforcement points of the opposing team. Players simply need to take control of certain control points and bleed opponents of their reinforcements.

Breakthrough is pretty straightforward. One team attack while the other team defends. The objective here is simple. The attacking team needs to take control of all sectors until there is no zone left for the defenders to protect. Meanwhile, the defending team needs to defend their sectors until the attacking team loses all their reinforcements. Defenders have unlimited reinforcements while the attackers have a limited number of reinforcements points available.

Hazard Zone is what some considered to be the most similar game mode to a Battle Royale. In this game mode, players are teamed up into several groups with the objective of collecting data drives scattered around the map. Teams can eliminate each other and obtain their data drives. The difference between this mode and a BR game is that in Hazard Zone, you already have a fixed set of equipment. There is no need to scavenge for armors or weapons.

What about the Battlefield Portal mode?

This is where the players were able to work their magic on the game. Battlefield Portal isn’t really a mode but rather a collection of custom-made games and maps created by the player themselves. This is where Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale hungry can look for the game mode they want the most. By searching for Battlefield 100, gamers can access a player-made game mode that is based on the popular genre. Though there are some limitations, the creator of the custom game has made great efforts to make it as close to a true Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale mode as possible. e. The game mode features 100 players parachuting into an area, picking up loots, and a red zone closing in.

How does the Custom Game mode work?

The start of the game is very simple. Players are dropped into the area already equipped with M1911s and grenades. The objective is straightforward. Scavenge for supplies, eliminate other teams, and be the last team standing. The scavenging aspect in this mode is pretty unique. DICE has stated there are limitations to custom game maps. One such limitation is that the absence of ground loot since the game does not allow the placement of objects. The creator of the map instead made loots invisible and provides players with written prompts and indicators on whether they are close to loot or can otherwise pick up an object.

Another limitation that the creator has bypassed is the circle. Popular BR games all have a red zones or circle that reduces players’ lives if they go or stay outside the circle. However, BF2042 doesn’t have a feature that can create a visible in-game circle or wall. To fix this, the creator made use of bots formed in a circle surrounding the safe areas. These AI bots are highlighted in red to indicate that they represent the circle for this custom BR game. The circle shifts position every two minutes.

The last unique feature that the creator of the custom game mode made was the prison system. Whenever a player dies, they are sent to prison in the game. Players can rejoin the actual game by killing a required number of players inside the prison. The number of kills needed depends on the number of deaths the player has incurred on the map and in the prison. Dying once more after the player has reached four kills inside the prison will result in players becoming spectators. An average match with this game mode is around 20 minutes.

Players who are craving some Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale action just need to search “Battlefield 100” in the Battlefield Portal. Just launch the game and head straight to the search hub. Don’t forget to thank the creator of this game mode, chbmg.
