Best Avowed Fighter Build

By | February 18th, 2025 | Categories: Others

Melee combat is a core part of Avowed, as there are multiple melee weapons to choose from, such as daggers, hammers, swords/greatswords, and axes. This guide will provide you with the best stat distributions, passives, and multiclass for your fighter build to really bump up your DPS to the max.

Character Creation

To start with your Fighter, the War Hero is the best background to choose, as this gives a few extra points to your physical stats and matches the roleplay for the build.

For your primary stat allocation, try to use this stat block:

  • Might: 9
  • Constitution: 8
  • Dexterity: 5
  • Perception: 6
  • Intellect: 2
  • Resolve: 4

Once you start leveling and get more stat points, always prioritize Might, Constitution, and Resolve to stay in combat longer. Dexterity is a good secondary option for the bonus attack speed, but only allocate points here if you have enough for the first three stats.

Active Skills

Much of this build revolves around being a tank in the middle of heavy combat, while your companions deal most of the damage from further away. These skills should help you play into that class fantasy:

  • Charge: +3 points
  • Barbaric Shout: +3 points
  • Into The Fray: +3 points
  • Clear Out: +3 points

Charge will be your main engagement skill when starting a fight, as it deals AoE damage and can deal extra stun damage at higher levels. Barbaric Shout is a straight buff to combat, as it can taunt, boost your stun damage, and make your attack unblockable. Into The Fray lets you close the distance on ranged enemies, and Clear Out is a powerful AoE skill that can deal extra damage on full rank.

Passive Skills

As for your passive skills, you’ll be taking both from the Fighter and Ranger skill trees, as both have passive effects to scale your damage up to the endgame while giving you some much-needed survivability. Take the following skills:

  • Shield Bash: +2 points
  • Constant Recovery: +3 points
  • Parry: +3 points
  • Finesse: +3 points
  • Unbreakable: +3 points
  • Reflect: +1 point
  • Critical Strike: +3 points

These passives will allow you to endure a lot of enemy attacks while dealing solid damage in melee. To explain, Constant Recovery, Shield Bash, Parry, and Unbreakable are for turning your shield into another weapon, while Finesse and Critical Strike boost your damage.

Best Items For Fighters

There are plenty of good gear items in the game, especially when you can upgrade Uniques, but these item builds will be able to get you through the game fairly easily.

Starter Build

  • Weapon: Drawn in Winter
  • Off-Hand: Unflinching Duty
  • Secondary Weapon: Umpara’s Spear
  • Armor: Steel Garrote Plate
  • Gloves: Magran’s Force
  • Boots: Eothasian Boots
  • Amulet: Steel Garrote Medallion
  • Trinket: Painter’s Brush

Max Level Build

  • Weapon: Ondra’s Offense
  • Off-Hand: Bastion of Solace
  • Secondary Weapon: Wayfinder
  • Armor: Obsidian Order Cuirass
  • Gloves: Gauntlets of Devotion
  • Boots: Sentinel Boots
  • Trinket: Thirdborn Tira Nui Badge
  • Amulet: Torc of the Warrior King
  • Ring: Wildwalker Ring
  • Ring: Ring of Pain Amplification

Best Companions for Fighters

There are a few companions that accentuate your playstyle as a frontline tank since you’re drawing aggro from the entire group. For this build, you’ll want to bring the following:

  • Marius: As a Ranger, he can provide a bit of crowd control with his entangling vines, while dishing out solid damage from close and long ranges
  • Giatta: She’s a pure support companion with lots of healing and buffs to tip fights in your favor.

This build guide should get you through all the way to the endgame as you soak up punishment while dealing solid damage. Of course, it always helps to be creative or flexible with your build if you prefer different options.
