Complete Backpack Battles Subclass List

While Backpack Battles heavily rely on item management and combinations, classes play an important role in determining which tools can appear in your shop and what you can combine. Each main job has five sub-roles you can specialize in after buying specific items from the shop after the sixth battle. Some subclasses dominate the meta more than others, so learning which ones to get can help you climb the rank leaderboards.

All Backpack Battles Subclasses

There are four base characters in Backpack Battles, and each has five subclasses that provide different buffs and items compared to the others. Learning how to choose them and what to do can help you better understand the meta. Here are all the subclasses in Backpack Battles:

Berserker

Fighter

  • Choose Brass Knuckles
  • On Hit: Gain a 30% chance of Stunning enemies for 0.5 seconds, 5% accuracy, and 5% crit chance for Brass Knuckles and all its starred items. You also gain 50% faster Trigger during Battle Rage.

Blacksmith

  • Choose Anvil
  • Generate a Flame for each item crafted. Each crafted item on starred slots gains +2 damage and uses 5% less Stamina.

Chieftain

  • Choose Deerwood Guardian
  • Gain 10% damage reduction and make Battle Rage last longer for 0.5s per Nature item on starred slots. 

Pack Leader

  • Choose Wolf Emblem
  • Shops now offer Wolf pets. You have a 30% chance to resist debuffs when you have at least five Empower. Starred weapons now gain a 10% Crit Hit Chance, which scales to 10% for each Pet. 

Shaman

  • Choose Shaman Mask
  • Start of Battle: Gain one Luck for each socketed Gem. You also use up two Luck to gain five random buffs every three seconds. Shop now offers runes. 

Ranger

Beastmaster 

  • Choose Big Bowl of Treats
  • Gain two random buffs every four seconds and a 30% chance to activate pets twice. You also gain 5% faster triggers for food in star spots, which can stack up to 100%. Friends of the Forest appear more frequently in the shop.

Lifebinder

  • Choose Yggdrasil
  • Start: Gain one mana and one regen for each Nature item on starred slots. You also gain five mana, five heal, and cleanse two debuffs.

Hunter

  • Choose Piercing Arrow
  • Weapons on starred slots deal a 30% increase in crit damage and can remove five armor on crit. You also gain a 40% chance to earn one Luck every time Piercing Arrow activates. 

Pathfinder

  • Choose Poison Ivy
  • Nature items on starred slots provide an additional 5% chance to resist debuffs. You also inflict two Poisons every time you gain two stacks of Spikes. Enemies will take 20% extra damage when they reach 19 stacks of Poison. 

Grovekeeper

  • Choose Mega Clover
  • You generate two Clovers every time you enter the shop, and you gain an additional 8% chance to get items on sale and a 20% chance of a Unique Item appearing. You gain 40 random buffs every time you hit 20 stacks of Luck. 

Pyromancer

Ashbringer

  • Choose Dark Lantern
  • Start of Battle: You lose 50% of your HP. Before Defeat: You reincarnate with 50% life and become invulnerable for 2.0s. You deal ten damages for each Fire item on starred slots and inflict six debuffs for each Dark item on diamond slots upon reincarnation. 

Crusader

  • Choose Burning Banner
  • You gain 25% protection from buffs being removed from you and debuffs from being cleansed from enemies. You also remove buffs from your opponent while gaining two Regeneration every three seconds. Holy Items on starred slots have a 30% chance of inflicting one stack of Blind for five seconds every time they activate.

Cryomancer

  • Choose Frozen Flame
  • Start of Battle: Gain 15 stacks of Block for each Ice item on starred slots. You also inflict two stacks of Cold every time you generate five stacks of Heat. Items on diamond slots gain a 2% crit chance and 2% crit damage for every stack of Cold on your opponent. Shop now offers Ice items. 

Firebender

  • Choose Friendly Fire
  • You use one mana to generate two Heat. Each starred Fire Item makes Trigger go 10% faster. You gain five Luck upon reaching 20 Heat, 15 regeneration on 40 Heat, and deal 100 damage on 80 Heat.

Scalewarden

  • Choose Dragon Nest
  • Start of the Battle: Gain three Luck, two Regeneration, four mana, and five Heat. You heal for seven HP whenever your starred Dragon attacks. Dragon Eggs on starred slots hatch after one round. Shops now offer Dragon Eggs. 

Reaper

Alchemist 

  • Choose Cauldron
  • You randomly gain 10 HP, three mana, or two Heat every five seconds. Food on starred slots triggers Cauldron 15% faster. Any potion adjacent to the item will also get upgraded after entering the shop. 

Vampiress

  • Choose Nocturnal Lock Lifter
  • Start: Gain two stacks of Vampirism. Weapons on starred slots gain an additional 20% Life Steal while your healing is enhanced by 25%. Poison Damage can now also do life steals through Vampirism.

Witch

  • Choose Mr. Struggles
  • You inflict Fatigue every three seconds. You also gain a 35% chance of returning a debuff when afflicted. Dropping below 50% HP will trigger items on starred slots of Mr. Struggles 100% faster for eight seconds. Plushies will now be available in the shop.

Venomancer

  • Choose Snake
  • Start: Gain four stacks of Luck and an additional 30% max health for each Pet on starred slots. You also inflict two stacks of Poison every two seconds. Poison stacks gain a 5% chance of not being cleansed per Luck stack. 

Hexblade

  • Choose Cursed Dagger
  • On Stun: Deal an additional attack. On Hit: Inflict two random debuffs. Cursed Dagger and items on the starred slots gain 1% accuracy and crit chance, which scales depending on the number of debuffs your opponents have.

Backpack Battles may introduce new classes into the game, but it would take some time since Pyromancer and Berserker just got released with version 1.
