CSGO in 2016: What to Expect
ESports have been on the scene for quite some time and have certainly made it their mark. Games like Dota 2 and League of Legends have proven popular and have had a huge prize pool but 2016 brings something new for ESports fans. 2016 is going to be the year where CS:GO announces itself to the world with a million dollar prize pool.
Counter Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) was the fourth edition in the Counter Strike series after the original game launched in 2012. The game quickly grew popular and continues to gain popularity today. Pro players of the previous editions have moved on and started playing CS:GO and appear to be enjoying it as much as previous editions. New Counter Strike teams and organizations have sprung up including those supporting the players who commit full time to the game.
The year of CS:GO…
Apart from all this, why is 2016 being called the year for CS:GO? The reason is the advancements in the game that have taken place this year. Two new majors (tournaments with prize pools of at least $250,000) have come on to the scene with a $1,000,000 prize pool which has never been seen before. The teams, players and organizations are desperate to get going to compete for this previously unheard of, huge money.
Away from the important CS:GO scene, two new features have actually been added into the game. In the recent update, Inferno has been removed from the active duty pool and De-Nuke has been added. There have been concerns regarding this move as Nuke requires higher quality graphics. Another major change in the game has been the introduction of Prime Accounts. This new feature has been welcomed by the fans and the players. It will reduce ‘smurfing’ and only allow prime accounts owners to play on their prime accounts. This feature reduces the players who have been playing using multiple accounts and maybe using 3rd party software.
The big change to CS:GO
One of the biggest changes in the CS:GO scene in 2016 is the use of the mobile authenticator. CS:GO has been plagued by scammers since it came out. The mobile authentication has put an end to all this scamming by affiliating every account with a mobile phone. This has made trading more secure and effective along with reducing account impersonation. All these new features have brought life to the game and this will encourage gamers to play more, securing the success of CS: GO in 2016.
