Dragon Age: The Veilguard: All 33 Unique Items and Their Locations
Dragon Age: The Veilguard features 33 Unique items that you can collect throughout your adventure. Some of these rare items are missable, so be sure to actively farm for them before progressing through the rest of the campaign. To help you out, this guide will show players how to farm all Unique gear in DAV based on LunarGaming’s tutorial.

All DAV Unique Items
There are precisely 33 Unique Items for each class. The names and effects of each may vary depending on what job you’re currently running, but the farming locations will remain the same. Here’s how you can farm all DAV Unique items:
Missable Unique Items
- Wings of Retribution: You can only get this during the Waiting Stone companion quest. Drop down the nearby ladder right before you meet Harding’s contact. You cannot return to this location if you finish the quest before getting the item.
- Paragon’s Silent Gaze: You can only obtain this item by doing Harding’s The Heart of a Titan companion quest. Just explore the cave until you find the chest containing the unique helmet. You will miss this item if you haven’t progressed in your quest with her.
- Essence Vortex: You can only obtain this by doing Emerich’s Sacrifice of Souls companion quest. Once you gain access to the Secret Passage, you can find it at the edge of the catacombs.
Other Unique Items
- Brute Hammer: After defeating the wyrm in the quest “Slaying the Fangscorcher,” explore and loot the dragon’s hoard.
- Unyielding Stone: You get this item as a reward for slaying Kataranda during another dragon hunt mission.
- Iron Veil: Head towards a small island within the Arlathan Forest. You’ll get this unique after using crystals to activate three-beam turrets.
- Fade-Touched Bulwark: Head towards the abandoned fortress in the northeastern part of the Arlathan Forest. You’ll also arrive in this area during the “Gate of Faded Glories” quest.
- Magister’s End: You’ll need to complete the side quest “Desperate in Dock Town” to find this item. Once you gain access to the catacombs, head towards the new section of the zone for the quest and look for the chest containing the item.
- Magister’s End: You can obtain this item once you’ve collected all the Candlehops and turned them in at the Safehouse near the start of the map in Docktown. Doing so will open up the previously gated stairs containing the desired unique.
- Maw of The Black City: Defeat 50 mobs to gain access to the chest in the Crossroads area.
- The Hard Way: This can be found near Fletcher at the end of Treviso’s “Missing in Action” quest.
- Jenny’s Belt: You obtain this item by solving the puzzles in Dellamorte Estates in Treviso.
- Wedge of Destiny: You can find the chest for this item by opening a new location after finishing the “Something’s Coming” quest and destroying the corruption. However, you must complete several of Davrin’s companion quests and other side missions in the Hossberg Wetlands.
- Crookytails Crest: Open the Warden Vault by solving the puzzle in Rivain Coast.
- Glorius Ultimatum: You can obtain this by completing the “Dead Men Tell No Tales” quest in Rivain Coast after completing all of Taash’s companion quests.
- Meredith’s Legacy: You can get this by finishing the “Treasure of Sharkmouth Mountain” after completing all of Taash’s companion quests.
- Call of the Hall: You must unlock the Hall of Valor by progressing Taash’s arc. You get this item as a reward for defeating ten waves of enemies after interacting with Isabela.
- Pillar of the Departed: You get this as a reward after you defeat the dragon during the “Pinnacle of Its Kind” You have to finish the Restless Spirit and open the door in the Necropolis Hall for this.
- Deathrattle: Accept the Hauntings quest series from the Mourn Watch in the Necropolis. You get the item after you defeat Death.
Heart of Corruption Questline
- The Burden: Defeat the boss during the Gate of Lost Ages quest in Converged City.
- Field of Commanders Helm: Defeat the boss during the Gate of Pale Reflection quest in Hossberg Wetlands.
- Casket Sharp: Defeat the boss during the Gate of Pale Reflections quest at Heights of Athim.
- Andraste’s Will: Defeat the boss during the Gate of Parched Hopes quest at Elvhenan’s Haven.
- Last Resort: Defeat the boss during the “Heart of Corruption” after the Dragon Boss quest at Last Resort.
Regrets of the Dread Wolf Questline
- Mythal’s Light: Convince Mythal to help you instead of fighting her after completing the quest.
- A Pale Reflection: During the questline, follow the side path before you talk to Mythal to find the chest containing this item.
Faction Vendor Unique Items
- Arlathan’s Fall: Purchased from the Veil Jumpers Quartermaster in Arlathan Forest.
- Imperium’s Resolve: Purchased from the Shadow Dragons Quartermaster in Dock Town.
- Plummage of the Mad Crow: Purchased from the Antivan Crows Quartermaster in Treviso.
- Commander’s Presence: Purchased from the Grey Wardens Quartermaster in Hossberg Wetlands.
- Gravestone: Purchased from the Mourn Watch Quartermaster in Necropolis Halls.
- Extravagant Plate: Lords of Fortune Quartermaster in Hall of Valor.
- Crow’s Armet: Purchased from Xenon, the Antiquarian from the Black Emporium in Dock Town, which will unlock as you progress through the story.
Can You Upgrade Unique Items?
You cannot upgrade Unique Items to increase their stats, but you can enchant them to add extra effects when using them. You can do this via the Caretaker’s Workshop at the Lighthouse. You can freely enhance them as long as you have the sufficient materials.
