Easy Guide: How to Spawn Civ 7 Treasure Fleets
Treasure Fleets are a crucial feature in Civilization 7 in gathering Treasure Resources. These materials are obtained from distant lands and transformed into gold rewards, which help you enter the Economic Legacy Path and win via Economic Victory. Treasure Fleets are incredibly crucial when executing this strategy, so it’s essential for players to learn how to spawn them during the Exploration Age.

How to Spawn Treasure Fleets
Tech Trees Needed
Treasure Fleets were only available during the Exploration Age because this was the only time Treasure Resources spawned. To start the Economic Legacy Path, you’ll need to invest in the Cartography Tech Tree to access distant lands, allowing units to travel through oceans. Once you do this, you’ll have to wait several turns traveling while investing points in Astronomy, Heraldry, and Feudalism. After doing so, send settlers to distant lands to harvest the resources. Ideally, you’ll want to settle near coastal areas to make the areas accessible.
Establishing Settlements in Distant Lands
You can find Distant Lands by heading west or east until you find new lands, and then you can start making a settlement. The next step is to claim all Treasure Resources near your new territory, and you’ll need five of them to reach the minimum for the Legacy Path. You want to focus on the following treasures:
- Tea
- Sugar
- Spices
These Treasure Resources will spawn Treasure Fleet once you’ve fulfilled the requirements. However, you can still farm resources like Cocoa, Silver, and Gold.
Fishing Quay and Shipbuilding
The last few steps require you to set up a Fishing Quay in the settlement and invest in Shipbuilding. You can do either ahead of the other. The Fishing Quay is where the Treasure Fleets will spawn, and they’re available as early as the Antiquity Age. After researching Heraldry and Feudalism, Shipbuilding is unlocked, allowing towns to export resources to their main territories via the Resource Screen. The UI will also feature how long a Treasure Fleet spawns in the Quay.
How to Use Treasure Fleets
It should be noted that Treasure Fleets are still counted as units so they shouldn’t travel alone. They can get attacked en route to the mainland, so you may need to escort them with naval units. The fleet must reach the borders of any settlement of your main territory. Once they unload the cargo, the Treasure Fleet will be consumed, and you’ll get one point and a certain amount of gold for each resource you deliver.
