‘Tis the season of spooky, scary stuff; when bats, skeletons, pumpkins, abound as screams of horror fill the chill night air and lurking creepy crawlers go bump in the dark. For some, it’s the time for candy and all things delectable. That’s right, Halloween is in the air once again, and Tamriel celebrates it with the ESO Witches Festival. Enjoy gaining double the XP, completing your collections, and gathering tickets!

How do I get to the ESO Witches Festival?

Many people ask this question. Well, it’s not a place per se, but here’s how you can blow the whistle to start with the ESO Witches festivities.

Grab the quest ‘The Witchmother’s Bargain’ from the Crown Store. Once you’re done, you’ll get the Witchmother’s Whistle memento. If you’ve earned it in a past festival, you can use it from the Collections menu instead.

Using the whistle will grant you and your party a stackable +100% XP buff, as well as summon the Witchmother’s Cauldron. The Cauldron will transform your character into the undead for two hours. It’s perfect for spreading the creepy atmosphere.

If you’re asking for a specific ‘where’ the festival is, the event is all over Tamriel. You can celebrate from anywhere, as long as you’re online. Some towns may have their appearances changed to reflect the event.

Where do I Plunder Skulls for sweet loot?

Defeating bosses, Dark Fissures, and Dolmens all reward Plunder Skulls. Cracking one open gives you the chance to obtain the following:

  • A piece of the Skeleton Marionette memento (needs 10 to complete)
  • Hollowjack Motif pages or books
  • A piece of the Apple-Bobbing Cauldron memento (needs 7 to complete)
  • A Runebox containing an event-themed mask (there are 4 to collect)
  • Themed furniture or furniture recipes
  • Bewitching Alchemy reagents and materials
  • An assortment of creepy, spooky items

What’s more, you have the opportunity to get Dremora Plunder Skull each day. You obtain one from the first boss you defeat. Try to mix up the type of boss you defeat first to get different motif pages! You can also receive the following from the Dremora Plunder Skull:

  • Glenmoril Armor Outfit Style page
  • Glenmoril Treasure map
  • Witches Festival Writ

The map can lead you to different weapon style pages all over Tamriel. Completing Writs will unlock an achievement, as well as reward you with a title and a hat collectible.

What are the ESO Witches Festival Event Tickets?

Along with the Dremora Skulls, you’ll also get Event Tickets. Spend it in the Impresario for treats galore! Here’s what you can buy from the shop.

  • Snow Berries of Bloom
  • Four Indrik Feathers
  • Glenmoril Weapon and Armor Outfit Style pages
  • Skeleton Marionette memento
  • Apple Bobbing memento
  • A wrapped Witches Festival Writ

Take note that you won’t be able to trade any of these items if you did buy them. They’re bind-on-pickup, meaning they’re untradeable as well. As a bonus to buying the berries and feathers with earned (not bought) tickets, you get entries to the Season of the Dragon Sweepstakes. Don’t miss the opportunity!

Why should you treat yourself with these tricky Crown Store deals?

New and returning items are available in the Crown Store once again. They’re here for only a limited time, so don’t miss this chance. Reaper’s Harvest and Hollowjack Crown Crates have returned, as well as event-themed furnishing packs, houses, and polymorphs.

There are also new items such as the Kynbound SenchePanther and the Witch’s Infernal Familiar pet! Now is the time to get them, as they’ll only be available as long as the event is ongoing. You never know if they’ll return next year or not, so why not take the plunge?

Is time running out?

Yes. Now’s the time to go and celebrate the holiday with your friends! Nothing’s sadder than spending a holiday alone. Plus, there’s so much to do and collect. One person can’t maximize the fun this event offers. Wonders and new adventures await you in ESO.

Wondering when it started? It began on October 24. Hurry! The event ends on November 4. You’ll have to wait another year to get a chance like this again. That’s why you have to take the chance while it’s still here.

Enjoy the holiday with ESO Witches Festival!
