Everything Announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024
Gamescom 2024 has begun, and this year, Geoff Keighley is hosting its Opening Night Live.
The event revealed new information and announcements for upcoming games, which will also be on the event’s show floor in the coming days. If you missed the Live announcements, here’s a TL;DR just for you.

Marvel Rivals
NetEase Games announced Marvel Rivals, a 6v6 team-based game featuring characters from the Marvel universe. The game will be released on December 6, 2024, and will be available for PS5, Xbox, and PC.
Batman: Arkham Shadow
Camouflaj and Oculus Studios revealed Batman: Arkham Shadow, their upcoming game exclusively for Meta Quest 3. Roger Craig Smith, who voiced the caped crusader in Batman: Arkham Origins, will reprise his role in Arkham Shadow. The game is going to be released in October 2024.
Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred
Blizzard revealed the next major update for Diablo IV in a trailer. The new expansion will arrive on October 8, 2024, and will allow players to enlist the help of mercenaries.
Mecha BREAK
Mecha BREAK is a new multiplayer mech game developed by Amazing Seasun Games. It will be the first game to utilize Nvidia ACE, an AI-powered system providing realistic communication between players and NPCs. Mecha BREAK is set to have a release window of 2025.
Black Myth: Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong’s official launch trailer was shown during Opening Night Live and is now available for PC and PS5, and the Xbox Series X/S version is slated for a later release date.
Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile 2 was announced with a new trailer. The game will be released in Early Access, which will be available for PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, on November 15, 2024.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Focus Entertainment released a new trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. As super soldiers, players will endure galactic warfare. The game will be released on September 9, 2024, and will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Borderlands 4
Gearbox revealed Borderlands 4. It’s currently in development and will be released next year. It’s not yet confirmed which platforms it’ll be available for.
Directive 8020
Supermassive Games revealed Directive 8020, their first installment in the second season of The Dark Pictures Anthology. This interactive space horror game is set to release in 2025.
Dune Awakening
Dune Awakening was revealed alongside its gameplay by Funcom. It’s an open-world survival MMO set in Arrakis. There has been no announcement on the release date.
Reanimal
Tarsier Studios, developers of the first two Little Nightmares games, revealed Reaanimal, a new horror adventure story about a brother and sister who must escape the island that used to be their home while looking for their missing friends.
Dying Light: The Beast
Techland revealed their third entry in the Dying Light series. Kyle Crane, the protagonist in the original Dying Light, will return as a playable hero. The game has no confirmed release date.
Street Fighter 6
Capcom released a trailer for Terry in Street Fighter 6, revealing Terry’s gameplay. Terry will launch into Street Fighter 6 on September 24, 2024, and will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Raven Software showcased one of the missions in their single-player campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The game is set in the early 1990s after the events of the Cold War and will be released on October 25, 2024.
Predecessor
Omeda Studios announced the launch of their new game Predecessor, a third-person MOBA featuring 30 unique Heroes with different play styles and abilities. The game is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
ARC Raiders
Embark Studios released a trailer for their new game, ARC Raiders, and provided an update for the free-to-play shooter. They revealed that the game will be out sometime next year and confirmed that they will host playtests sometime this Fall.
Goat Simulator Remastered
Goat Simulator is back! Coffee Stain Studios’ widely known 2014 game will be remastered and include all its original DLCs, including the DLC exclusive for the mobile version. The game is set to be released later this year.
Enotria: The Last Song
Enotria: The Last Song is a Soulslike action RPG inspired by Italian folklore. Jyamma Games released the trailer at Gamescom 2024, with a release date of September 19, 2024. It’ll be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO
Bandai Namco released a gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball Sparling! ZERO. The game will be released on October 11, 2024, and is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis
Atlus revealed their new trailer for the upcoming DLC, Episode Aegis. This is an epilogue for Persona 3 Reload, and it’s set to be released on September 10, 2024, for the PS4 and PS5.
Secret Level
Amazon Prime Video is expanding its reach to games, revealing their new anthology series, Secret Level. This series will provide original stories from new, indie, and classic games. The series is set to premiere on December 10, 2024.
Kingdom Come Deliverance II
Warhorse Studios released a gameplay trailer for their new project, Kingdom Come Deliverance II. The game takes place during a civil war in Bohemia in the 15th century. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will be released on February 11, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Sniper Elite Resistance
Rebellion revealed the latest installment of the Sniper Elite series, Sniper Elite Resistance. The game is confirmed to have a release window of 2025 and will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Age of Mythology Retold
Age of Mythology is a new RTS game by the creators of Age of Empires. It focuses on the history of the mythical age and will be released on September 4, 2024, and will be available on Game Pass at launch.
A.I.L.A.
A.I.L.A is a new horror story played through the eyes of a game tester who must survive the haunting experiences made by the fictional AI A.I.L.A. The game is set to come in 2025 and will be available on PC.
Delta Force Hawk Ops
Team Jade has made updates regarding their game, Delta Force Hawk Ops. A new trailer was released, and the different multiplayer modes were showcased. This game has no set release date, but Alpha tests are ongoing.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage has revealed its gameplay trailer. It’s a new project by DON’T NOD, the creators of Life is Strange. The game is set in two timelines: the summer of 1995 and the present. It will be released in two parts: the first part on February 18, 2025, and the second on March 18, 2025. The game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Little Nightmares 3
Little Nightmare 3 was announced with a trailer. Supermassive Games will take over the game’s development, previously under the creators, Tarsier Studios. The game has no release date, but developers are targeting a 2025 release.
BEGONE BEAST
Begone Beast released its Early Access trailer. It’s a new top-down action game for 1-4 players with cute characters who must battle hordes of demons, changing levels, and ancient beasts. The game will enter its Early Access in February 2025.
Cairn
The Game Bakers released a gameplay trailer for their new game, Cairn. It’s a survival climber adventure game where you can explore mountains and face complex challenges all while climbing. The game is scheduled to be released in 2025 for PC and Console.
Honkai Star Rail
HoYoverse revealed a trailer for a collaboration with the anime Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works], which is set to arrive in Q3 of 2025.
ITER
The survival mining game ITER released an official trailer for Gamescom 2024. Players are set on a mysterious planet and must gather resources to survive their underground civilization. The game has no official release date.
Infinity Nikki
Infinity Nikki is a new, cozy, open-world game that released an overview trailer for Open Night Live 2024. They have opened sign-ups for the closed beta; you can access the form via their official website.
King of Meat
Amazon Games and Glowmade announced their new game, King of Meat. It’s a co-op game that will have 1-4 players be part of a game show where they must endure crazy and ridiculous dungeons. The game has no release date, but you can sign up for their future play tests on their official website.
Nikoderiko: The Magical World
Nikoderiko: The Magical World is a family-friendly couch co-op platform game in which you explore unique worlds as the duo Niko and Luna, who are trying to save a magical island and its tribe. The game will be released later this year and will be available for PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
Unknown 9: Awakening
Bandai Namco released a live-action trailer for Unknown 9: Awakening, an action-adventure game that focuses on the unique mechanic of astral projection. The game will be released on October 18, 2024, for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Civilization 7
Firaxis released a new gameplay trailer for Civilization 7, with a release date of February 11, 2025. The game will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Mac and Linux devices.
InZOI
Krafton released a gameplay trailer for its new life simulation game, InZOI. The game features a community where every character acts on their own free will, leading to unexpected events. It is set to be released later in 2024.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
MachineGames announced the release date of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle alongside its trailer. The game is set to be released on December 9, 2025, and will be available for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The PS5 version is still in development and will not be released until Spring 2025
ARA: History Untold
ARA: History Untold is a turn-based historical strategy game in which you control and develop your nation. It will be released on September 25, 2024, and is available for PC and PC Game Pass.
Dark and Darker Mobile
Krafton released a trailer for their upcoming mobile game, Dark and Darker. The game is an extraction role-playing game where you must escape from dungeons filled with unknown threats. The game is available for pre-registration and will be released later this year.
Lynked: Banner of the Spark
Lynked: Banner of the Spark, a co-op action game set in the future where humans have to defend themselves from Combots. The game will be available for Early Access in October 2024.
Masters of Albion
Masters of Albion is a new god sim created by Peter Molyneux, known for his work in Fable and Black & White. The game allows you to control and build your own world, and possess and control individual characters through the “god hand” mechanic. The game has no set release date at this time.
Mafia: The Old Country
Hangar 13 announced a new Mafia game, Mafia: The Old Country, along with its trailer. The game is currently in development, and there’s no confirmed release date. However, further details will be given in December 2024.
Roadcraft
Roadcraft is a new heavy-construction simulation game developed by the developers of MudRunner and SnowRunner. In the game, players will need to restore industrial sites ravaged by natural disasters. It’ll be released in 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Squid Game Unleashed
Netflix announced a new mobile game based on the popular South Korean TV series Squid Game, Squid Game: Unleashed. The game will feature various characters from the show. It has no release date, but it’ll be available for iOS and Android.
The First Berserker Khazan
Nexon announced that their new dark fantasy RPG, The First Berserker Khazan, will be released next year. From October 11 to October 20, Nexon will hold a technical closed beta for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
We Harvest Shadows
We Harvest Shadows, the first-person farming horror, was announced. In the game players will build their own farm and try to survive the night. The game will be available on PC, but a release date has not been confirmed.
Dave the Diver
A new trailer was released for Dave the Diver’s new collaborations with Balatro, Potion Craft, and mxmtoon. The collaboration will come in October 2024 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
Towerborne
Towerborne is coming to Early Access on September 10. It’s a side-scrolling action game where you fight monsters outside the tower’s walls to protect the people of Belfry. The game will be on Xbox soon.
Herdling
Okomotive announced their new game, Herdling. In this game, you play as a young child guiding a herd of bovine creatures through different beautiful landscapes. The game focuses on exploration and storytelling and will be released in 2025.
Tribe Nine
Akatsuki Games and Too Kyo Games released the trailer for Tribe Nine. The trailer showcased the action RPG gameplay, in which players will face challenges and devise strategies to overcome formidable enemies. The game is coming soon to PC, iOS, and Android.
Revenge of the Savage Planet
The sequel to Journey to the Savage Planet, Revenge of the Savage Planet, was announced alongside its trailer. The game is a sci-fi co-op shooter that is a continuation of the original story.
Floatopia
NetEase Games announced their new cozy simulation game, Floatopia. The game is an island builder in which players can explore and personalize their characters. It’ll be released in 2025 and will be available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
