Table of Contents
Erebus Overview
The most noticeable thing you’ll find in Erebus is the Warding Circles. You can interact with these objects to project a protective circle if you cast the Circles of Protection incantation at the Cauldron during Crossroads breaks. They can negate enemy damage while allowing you to attack in their area of effect. After running over them, you’ll only have a few seconds to benefit from them, so use them wisely.
Aside from these, we get several new resources that you can harvest with various tools. New boons also become available via Arachne. There are also new monster types with different attack styles, so it’s best to be prepared before you face them.

Thorn Weeper | Stationary enemies that damage you on contact | Just don’t touch them while attacking |
Erebus Mini-Bosses
Mini-Boss | Attack Pattern | How to Fight |
Shadow Spiller (Stationary) | Only swipes at you with its appendages, but conjures a shroud in the surrounding area which covers the area out of its vicinity in a fog of war. | Kill the Thorn Weepers in the area first. It doesn’t have any other attacks besides swipes, so just attack and retreat. |
Root Stalker (Stationary) | Fires projectile-based attacks or summons circular root masses that can trap you. An armored root will also follow and damage you throughout the fight. | Destroy the armored root first before focusing on the mini-boss. Always be on the move while attacking. |
Note: You aren’t guaranteed to fight the mini-bosses all the time since each arena is randomly generated.
