Helldivers 2 Borderline Justice Patch Adds New Weapons and Buffs

After a fairly quiet lull in Helldivers 2, the game received a surprise update with the Borderline Justice Warbond. New weapons such as the LAS-58 Talon and R-6 Deadeye give players the feeling of enforcing frontier justice. Arrowhead has also given sweeping buffs to many ballistics weapons, making them more lethal. Here’s everything new with the Borderline Justice update.

LAS-58 Talon

This laser revolver is one of the most promising weapons in the Warbond, as it has a powerful 200 damage stat with medium armor penetration and a fire rate that’s as fast as you can pull the trigger. As a laser weapon, this has near-infinite ammo if you can pace your shots and can be a great tool for emergency situations.

R-6 Deadeye

This lever-action rifle is a true tool for sheriffs, putting down armored targets one shot at a time. The R-6 Deadeye will have a per-round reload, making it handy for heavy firefights while having enough punch to penetrate medium armor. For prospective gunslingers, this weapon puts outlaws down.

GS-66 Lawmaker and GS-17 Frontier Marshal

Both armor sets contain the brand-new armor passive, Gunslinger, which states the sidearms gain 40% more reload speed, 50% faster draw and holster speed, and 70% less sidearm recoil, which makes sidearms like the Senator the deadliest iron in the galaxy.

TED-63 Dynamite

Blast bugs and bots into scrap with the TED-63 Dynamite, which is a powerful grenade with the unique feature of having a time-delayed fuse. With this grenade, you can set the detonation time to either 5 seconds, 15 seconds, or 1 minute. The Dynamite is a nice strategic grenade that makes timed ambushes very rewarding.

Sample Extricator Booster

Like many bounty hunters, this boost encourages you to take down the nastiest targets that are a threat to Super Earth.  Its effect states that killing a large target has a small chance for it to drop a Sample, with a cap of 10 samples per mission. Large targets include Hulks, Chargers, and Harvesters.

Patch 1.002.200 Notes

This patch gives out some major buffs for both players and the enemies of Super Earth. Ballistic weapons that have been previously outclassed by energy weapons have been given a pass to make them more relevant again, while the Automatons in particular are now much more threatening.

  • SMG-32 Reprimand: Spread decreased from 50 to 40
  • SG-8S Slugger: Spread decreased from 20 to 6, and damage increased from 250 to 280
  • AR-23C Liberator Concussive: Fire rate increased from 320 to 400
  • R-63 Diligence: Magazine capacity increased from 20 to 25
  • MP-98 Knight: Damage increased from 65 to 70
  • STA-11 SMG: Damage increased from 65 to 70
  • SMG-37 Defender: Damage increased from 75 to 80
  • SMG-72 Pummeler: Damage increased from 65 to 70. Now requires fewer shots to apply stun on applicable targets, stun value increased from 1.0 to 1.25 per bullet
  • AR-23 Liberator: Damage increased from 70 to 80
  • STA-52 Assault Rifle: Damage increased from 70 to 80
  • BR-14 Adjudicator: Damage increased from 90 to 95
  • AR-61 Tenderizer: Damage increased from 95 to 105
  • R-36 Eruptor: Projectile armor penetration increased from Medium to Heavy. Projectile lifetime increased from 0.7 to 1 sec
  • Eagle 110MM Rocket Pods: Uses increased from 2 to 3
  • EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit: Uses increased from 2 to 3
  • EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit: Uses increased from 2 to 3
  • TX-41 Sterilizer: Ergonomics increased from 5 to 20
  • M-105 Stalwart: Damage increased from 70 to 80
  • MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun: Improved armor penetration across a wider range of angles before transitioning to glancing shots
  • Automaton units will now react faster against Helldivers.
  • Larger groups of Automatons are given better AI calculations to make them more tactical during combat. However, this will slightly affect game performance.
  • Automaton dropship hull health has been increased from 2500 to 3500, now requiring 2 Recoilless Rifle shots to kill.
  • Illuminate dropships will now spawn with shields active mid-flight.
