New Patch Updates And Changes

Spectre Divide has released a new patch update and it’s what fans have been waiting for. From movement to performance optimization, the developers have been listening to players’ comments regarding the game. Since the game’s only been out for less than 2 months, these updates are focused on the overall player experience, but new and bigger updates will come in the future. Here’s everything you need to know about Spectre Divide’s latest update.

Movement Changes

If you’ve ever felt like your Spectre has been moving a little slow or the movement doesn’t feel right, that problem has been fixed. In the new patch, they’ve increased the forward move speed, which should help players move around faster across the map. The change will only affect forward movement, strafing will not be affected by this change. The improved forward move speed will also apply to walking, crouching, running, and ADS. Your movement speed for melee will not be affected.

Graphics And Visual Changes

Some players have reported that when playing the game there’d be frame rate spikes. To prevent this from happening, the game has improved the GPU performance to reduce this issue.

Aside from improving the GPU performance, the game has also optimized the visual effects of some Sponsor Abilities. This is to reduce the frame drops some players have experienced when smokes, grenades, and other abilities have been used on the map.

Here are all the Sponsor Abilities that are affected by the changes:

  • Pinnacle: Splinter Grenade
  • Morrgen: Meltdown, Hidden Grasp
  • Bloom: Twin Mend, Swarm Grenade
  • Ryker: Wave Scan, Hull Mine
  • Vector: Dual Amp
  • Ghostlink: Distortion Field
  • Muu: Hyper Dome, Patches
  • Umbra: Glare Burst

The developers also changed the color grading for the game to make it more vibrant. They showed examples of the maps to show the difference from the old color grading to the new one. The look of the game has become more vibrant, and the colors pop out more, which can probably help players who have a tough time differentiating between objects and players in the match.

New Casual Match and Map Changes

Spectre Divide has added a new Casual match, where the economy relies on “Boosted Buys,” which give you free Heavy armor, full equipment, and money every round. This new Casual match is intended for players who just want to head straight into the game and not worry about what gun or armor they should use. This new match, as the name implies, is intended for casual players. Since this is a new match mode, the developers would like to hear feedback from players so they can adjust or change the match mode if needed.

Aside from a new Casual match, the game has fixed where your team’s Spectres spawn at the start of the round. The Spectres will spawn closer to you for an easier set up before the round begins.

Ranked Changes and Progression Updates

The developers have adjusted the Ranked progression of the game to make it easier to reach Champion rank. These changes are meant to give players a better time in Ranked matches. You’ll probably also notice that you won’t encounter a bot teammate in your Gold Ranked matches.

The game has also changed the Active Progression bar in your menu. You’ll now see your Active Endorsement in the main menu to see how far you’ve gotten and how many games you’ll need to play to complete the Endorsement and unlock the Sponsor.

Quality of Life Updates

In this new update there’ve been several quality-of-life changes in the game to further improve the player’s experience. The developers have added an Ultra Wide Mode for players with an Ultra-Wide monitor without needing to change the aspect ratio. This mode supports Standard which is 16:9 ratio with black bars, and Fill which is 16:8 ratio filled to the screen.

The game also added a new Anti-Aliasing setting that you can find in the Settings tab in the Graphics section under Quality. This is a big change since before the update, you could only turn the Anti-Aliasing down to a lower range, but now it can be fully turned off.

The update also changed the view height of the characters. Which means that whether you’re level with the ground, straight ahead or directly ahead, you’ll be able to get a headshot no matter the range. Some players, before the update, pointed out that some of the characters when looking at their team head on, didn’t have the same height. However, this new update fixes this. Thus, when you get back into the game after the update, you might feel a little bit taller.

The game added an audio stinger when you win a round with an Ace or a clutch, to differentiate the round wins but also to probably make your Aces and Clutches feel a bit more special.

Updates to the game’s anti-cheat were improved based on players reports and new data. Aside from that, the game has also implemented new servers for Seattle and Johannesburg to help with player pings in those regions.

In the patch notes the game also fixed some bug issues with the Team Text and Voice, server connectivity, and Sponsor Abilities. With the new patch and update, the game will also have better visuals and quality on the player’s end. Bigger updates will come in the future that will probably focus on Seasons and Ranked updates.
