STALKER 2 Broken Weapons: What to Do with Them

By | November 27th, 2024 | Categories: Others

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 players are bound to find tons of broken weapons during their explorations of the post-apocalyptic world. If you encounter them on your journey, what exactly are you supposed to do with them? Especially since you can’t sell them, making them virtually useless. Though you should avoid looting any red-colored weapon, you’ll also need to be wary of yellow guns since they’re on the verge of breaking. If you already have a stockpile of broken items in your base, then you’ll need to do the following:

Repair The Broken Weapon

If you find any broken items you want to use, you can always try repairing them via Technicians. You can find your first technician in Zalissya, which you’ll visit if you’re doing The Poppy Field side quest. There are other technicians worldwide, so keep an eye out for them. The first, however, will introduce you to the Technician Service, so find him immediately.

The repair cost gets increasingly expensive, and repairing a broken weapon will cost thousands of coupons. It’s ideal to fix your gun once it reaches yellow grade. Beaten-down items are relatively cheaper to repair, so if you’re fond of a specific weapon, don’t let it go red.

Unload and Discard the Broken Weapon

If you find any weapon you don’t want to use, unload it before tossing it away. Unloading it will take out the remaining ammo left inside of the gun, helping you save on bullets, which are scarce in a post-apocalyptic world. Once you’ve done this, all there’s left to do is discard or throw the weapon away.

Sell them Before They Turn Red

It would help if you didn’t let your weapons turn red. If you have any guns in your possession that you no longer need, you should consider selling them before they break. You can sell an item as long as it’s yellow-grade or above. Once it’s broken, no Trader will want it, and by then, it’s no longer worth repairing and selling.

Final Note: In general, sell any weapon that you don’t like or throw them away if they’re red. And be sure to permanently repair your weapons once or before they hit Yellow Status.
