All Path of Exile 2 Changes for Dawn of the Hunt

After the recent backlash surrounding the sluggish state of PoE2’s combat and damage sponge enemies, Grinding Gear Games has just released a post on upcoming changes that will mitigate some of the community’s pain points. Here’s what you can expect for the next patch for Path of Exile 2.
Table of Contents
Class Balancing
While the nerfs to certain skills remain unchanged, some classes will be getting buffs to underpowered skills, hopefully, to make build variety more diverse in the long run. These are the following skills that will be rebalanced.
Sorceress Skills
- Arc now explodes with lightning when it hits a Shocked enemy, but it cannot apply Shock. Arc will not remove the Shock status on enemies.
- Eye of Winter gains bonus elemental damage when passing through other elemental orbs like Solar Orb, Orb of Storms, or Frost Bomb.
- Incinerate’s exposure duration increased from 2 seconds to 8 seconds.
- Mana Tempest can now be used with all spells and is updated to cause empowered spells to split toward additional targets instead of chaining or forking.
- Frostbolt explosion radius increased by 50%.
- Ice Nova’s freeze buildup has increased significantly.
- Frost Bomb exposure duration has been increased from 5 seconds to 8 seconds.
- Mana Remnants is now reworked to function with other elemental ailments beyond Shock such as Ignite and Freeze.
- The delay for Ignites spreading from sources such as the Wildfire support has been reduced from 2 seconds to 1. To compensate, the blast radius has been reduced slightly.
Huntress Skills
- Parried enemies are no longer able to evade attacks.
- Rapid Assault will apply Bleed on enemies upon spear detonation and deals 67% more damage. The explosion radius is increased by 20%
- Spearfield’s spear duration has increased from 6 seconds to 10 seconds, and its damage growth has increased, dealing 30% more damage by level 20.
- Herald of Blood no longer removes Rare and Unique monster corpses, allowing for corpse-based skills to activate.
Warrior Skills
- Temper Weapon on Smith of Kitava now adds 3 empowerments per weapon strike and casts 25% faster.
- Shield Wall is now detonatable with Warcries.
- The Armour Break status being applied to players by monsters no longer inflicts the 20% extra physical damage. The status effect on players will have its duration lowered from 12 seconds to 4 seconds.
Ranger Skills
- Stormcaller Arrow now proliferates Shock to nearby enemies in a small radius and has its AoE radius increased by 50%.
- Lightning Rod damage has increased by 30%, and its duration has been increased to 20 seconds.
- Lightning Arrow’s radius at which it arcs to targets increased by 50%.
- Tornado Shot’s maximum duration has increased to 15 seconds.
Map Flow
Another point of contention with PoE is the way campaign and endgame maps play and flow for both. GGG will make these changes in the next update:
- Certain crafting items like Artificer’s Orbs will be present in fixed locations in the campaign for more crafting options.
- Rare monster locations will always be present on the minimap for the endgame.
- The Matlan Waterways will have fewer areas covered in water, which conversely reduces the number of levers that need to be pulled to traverse the area.
