Upcoming Path of Exile 2 Patch Will Fix Endgame Content
Path of Exile 2’s current issues such as the Honor system, respec gold costs, and mapping difficulty will be rebalanced to make the endgame feel less daunting. Grinding Gear Games has released news of this upcoming patch, detailing how they’ll fix certain parts of the game. Here’s what we know about next week’s patch notes for PoE 2.

Checkpoints As Fast Travel Points
One of the main complaints in PoE 2’s campaign maps is the incredible size of each zone, which takes too long to explore. This becomes even more egregious during Act 3.
While GGG has yet to say anything about cutting down the size of maps, they have promised to make checkpoints viable fast travel points. Not only that, they’ll soon be adding even more checkpoints to the maps to reduce the amount of foot travel.
Skill Gems and Support Gems Updates
Certain Skill Gems have been underperforming compared to the current meta skill setups in the game. To this end, GGG will be updating weaker Skill Gems to be more viable for both the early and endgame.
- Buffs to Rolling Slam and all Shield Skills.
- Buffs to various Bow Skills, especially the skills used to generate Frenzy Charges.
- Buffs to Bone Spells and Chaos Damage over Time Spells
- Buffs to various Crossbow Skills.
- Buffs to currently weak Quarterstaff abilities.
As for Support Gems, a couple of new ones will be added once the patch arrives, along with some changes to existing ones.
- Added the Tremors Support Gem. This can be used to add more Aftershocks to certain Mace Skills, with a damage penalty.
- Added the Bidding Support Gem. This can be used to damage the Command Skills of Supported Minions more.
- The Fire, Lightning, and Cold Exposure Support Gems will instead have a Mana cost multiplier of 120% instead of a 25% damage penalty.
Endgame Rebalancing
Right now, many players have provided feedback to GGG regarding the difficulty of the endgame. With the scaling of certain map tiers, many players have been one-shot by enemies with Chaos damage sources, especially Poison. Aside from this, GGG will be changing up the Atlas to be more fair with the following updates:
- Currently, the cost of gold for respecing Passive Tree points scales to your character level, meaning that from level 50 beyond, it becomes way too expensive for a fresh start. The next patch will reduce the exponential growth of respec prices by around 40 to 50% of the original price, making it easier to try new builds.
- Maps will soon no longer have the elemental resistance reduction applied from Tier 6 onwards and will now remain consistent.
- Enemy chaos damage previously ramped up too aggressively during the endgame. The next update will see its scaling reduced during this stage of the game.
- Breach events will have their mob density reduced, especially with Rare monsters.
- The Volatile Crystals modifier was too unpredictable and dealt too much damage. This effect will be disabled on the next patch while also giving it clearer telegraphs.
- The damage dealt by the Volatile Plants modifier will be greatly reduced to make one-shots less likely.
- The Siphon Flask Chargers modifier taking all charges too quickly was a bug that will be patched out in the next update.
- Enemies dealing critical hit damage will be reduced by 40%.
Item and Passive Balancing
- Applying multiple Freezes to enemies will be more difficult as Freeze buildup will be reduced after a subsequent Freeze.
- The node “Hunter’s Talisman” will now provide an extra Charm slot, while the nodes leading to it will provide the stats it previously provided.
- A new Lightning and Electrocute passive tree cluster will be added between the Ranger and Monk sections.
Trial of Sekhemas Changes
- During a Trial of Sekhemas run, players have noted that melee combat makes the activity too difficult since they can lose Honor for simply playing their class as intended. The upcoming patch will rebalance melee combat so that Honor damage will be reduced up to 35% the closer a player gets to a monster.
- Another issue that GGG has addressed is damage over time doing triple the Honor damage in the game. This also occurs with the Honor resistance buff only providing two-thirds of the intended value. These issues will be patched out next week.
- As for Trial enemies, the Skitter Golems will now simply explode instead of doing basic attacks, while the Serpent Clan enemies’ burrow attack will be given a clearer telegraph animation while having its range cut down.
- Lastly, Rattlecage’s volcanic eruptions will disappear much sooner, making the first trial run more manageable.
