How to Play in Multiplayer Mode
You can play with others in FANTAYS LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time in two ways. You can either do a couch co-op session or online multiplayer. Couch co-op is unlocked during the first hour of your playthrough after a brief cutscene with Trip and Edward, which will then feature a prompt saying that local multiplayer is now enabled. Online co-op is unlocked during Chapter 3 after you’ve constructed a guild building in your Base Camp. The NPCs in this structure will let you look for or invite friends to join your session.
Can’t and Can Do in Multiplayer Mode
The first difference will be between couch co-op and online multiplayer. Online, your friends can use your characters in your explorations. However, couch co-op will only allow players to use Trip. Couch mode will only allow up to a party of two.
There are several limitations when doing an online multiplayer run. You aren’t allowed to progress the story and take or complete Life quests from guildmasters. Your gameplay is limited to exploration, gathering, and crafting. However, once you’ve gotten far enough into the game, you can get more rewards from high-level areas. You can also take on boss monsters and explore caves, which means you can still complete exploration quests and level up your character.
