How to Find Ore, Tree, and Fishing Sweet Spots in FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time

In FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time, everything has a cost. Chopping down a tree and mining an ore vein can cost a bit of your Strength Points (SP) per action. Each resource node has a level, much like the monsters you fight, where a higher level means more health. However, you can find a weakspot for both trees and ores that you can hit to harvest them faster. This guide will show you how to locate these weakspots and some Miner and Woodcutter skills to watch out for.

Locating Sweetspots

While attempting to harvest a tree or mineral deposit, you can move your character around it. To find the sweet spot, hit the node once while rotating around it. You’ll know when you’ve hit a weak spot once you see a “Sweet!” message on the damage number.

If you have the Sweet Spot Search skill, press X (on gamepad) to find the weak spot without hitting the node. If the spot you searched isn’t a sweet spot, your character will show a “?” instead. When your character shows a “!!” sign after pressing X, this is where the sweet spot is.

Mining or woodcutting on this spot will cause extra damage to the deposit/tree and make resource extraction much quicker.

Fishing is slightly different, though it follows the same rules. When casting a line into the water, wait for the fish to bite the lure. When it does, your character will display the “!!” sign. Pressing A within this window lets you deal a burst of damage to the spot.

Best Mining, Woodcutting, and Fishing Skills

As mentioned earlier, the “Sweet Spot Search” skill on the top branch of each Gathering Life is the most important one to get so that you don’t waste SP testing where the sweet spot is. The skills you should also get are the “Ore Breaker I” and “Charged Chop I,” since these allow you to do even more damage by holding the mine/chop button.
