How to Start the Pumpkin Peril Quest
Before you can find the pumpkin seeds, you’ll need to first locate Eogan in the Fortress. Head behind the shooting range and climb up the ladders on the western wall until you see a chicken coop.
After you find Eogan, talk to him. You’ll need to first solve the Roots of Knowledge tasks. It’ll involve talking to Raurie to find out what’s going on with the Keeper and his rooftop garden. After completing the first task, Eogan will give you some seeds to plant in planters next to him. You’ll have to wait 36 in-game hours to harvest Eogan’s Mysterious Root. Give it to Eogan, and he’ll ask you to find him some pumpkin seeds. The Pumpkin Peril Quest will then be active.
Where to Find Pumpkin Seeds
The seeds can’t be bought from any merchants. You’ll have to head to Rescree, a northwest settlement of the Fortress. Look for an abandoned farm in the area. It’s best to head to the location at night to find the 2 skeleton farmers and get the pumpkin seeds. Interact with the Skeleton on the right, and you’ll be able to buy pumpkin seeds for 80 gold.
After acquiring the pumpkin seeds, deliver them to Eogan, who will be in the exact location where you first interacted with him. After giving the seeds to Eogan, he’ll plant them on the rooftop garden, and you’ll complete the Pumpkin Peril Quest, earning you 500 XP.
The quest doesn’t end there; after 36 in-game hours, a mutant plant will come up from the soil. You’ll have some dialogue choices, but the outcome is the same; combat with the mutant plant is inevitable. So, come prepared with healing potions, fire-based weapons, and spells. After defeating the mutant plant, you’ll receive unique crafting materials, but you won’t have a Moral Victory.
