You’ll often find yourself engaged in melee battles in your Rimworld runs, so you’d want to equip your pawns with the best available melee weapons. While guns and other ranged items are handy, their upkeep and ammo needs can be pretty costly. Using melee weapons can preserve your resources, but it’s more dangerous. Using the right equipment can ensure your Pawn’s survival while also winning most engagements.
Which Melee Weapons to Use in Rimworld
This list is based on the usage of steel as the primary material. The stats for each weapon will increase if you use Uranium. Here are the best weapons to use in Rimworld:
- Zeus Hammer – 9.82 DPS | 66% Armor Piercing | EMP Effect on hit
- Plasma Sword – 7.65 DPS | Set on Fire on hit
- Mono Sword – 11.45 DPS | 118% Armor Piercing

Linking up with a Persona enhances the DPS and Armor Piercing of your weapons. It’s highly advantageous for your pawns to link up with the AI Personas even if they’re not that friendly. However, you should only consider doing this for your units that are mainly melee-based.
