Riot Adds Rank Rating Refund to Valorant
Valorant ranked players rejoice! Riot is giving players an RR refund system in Valorant. The game will receive a new system to ensure a fair-ranked experience. Here’s everything you need to know about the refund system.

What are Rank Rating Refunds
The Rank Rating Refund System acts to compensate players who were negatively affected by cheaters or players who were messing around in ranked matches. When Riot’s Vanguard anti-cheat detects and bans a cheater after a match has concluded, the affected players will receive RR Refunds for the game. If the players were disruptive, their games would be reviewed to see if they were being a nuisance in the game and be given a penalty. Players affected by the behavior will also receive RR Refunds.
Here’s how the RR Refund works.
- Players will be notified in-game when they qualify for an RR Refund.
- An amount of RR will be restored to their rank.
- The refund will be given after the next ranked match is completed.

Valorant Community’s Reaction
Fans are excited about the release of the Refund system due to the recent increase in cheaters in ranked matches. Players have been waiting for a system to be implemented since the start of the game. Some have complained that they’ve previously played sudden death-ranked matches, which are almost a two-hour game, and ended up not receiving an RR after one of the players was caught cheating.
Fans are happy to see Valorant improving their competitive play and providing relief for players who were victims of match-fixing or stream sniping.
Rank Rating Refund Release
The Rank Rating Refund System will be coming by the end of the month in the upcoming patch notes. Expect it to come after the Season 2025 Act 2 update. So, you’ll have to wait a few more weeks before the implementation of the Refund System.
