Patch Notes For All Platforms
Here are all the changes in the new Patch Notes that affect all platforms.
Agent Changes
Some Agent abilities that have interaction with the window in Ascent have been changed. Neon’s Fast Lane and Phoenix’s Blaze will break the window in Ascent if they cast it in the center. Harbor’s High Tide will no longer break the window since the floating orb won’t hit it. As for Cypher’s Trapwire, Killjoy’s Lockdown, and Chamber’s Trademark, the window will no longer break if the abilities are placed too close.
Aside from the window changes in Ascent, Brimstone’s Orbital Strike AOE and Vyse’s Steel Garden AOE windup and activation audio integration were updated. The audio will be directional from the origin of the AOE, so players will know where to travel to escape the abilities.
Gameplay Changes
For players who have been affected by AFK players during a draw vote in Ranked matches, those have now been updated. The voting system now no longer counts the votes of AFK players.
Map Changes
For all platforms, Haven has been improved with some quality-of-life changes. Cypher’s Trapwires and Vyse’s Arc Rose can be easily placed on crates in Haven.
Player Behavior Changes
In previous updates, Valorant has implemented changes to further penalize players who’ve been abusive with their teammates via voice comms and chat. In the new Patch Notes, Valorant has adjusted the comms system to give increased penalties for players who repeat abusive behavior through their comms.
Bug Fixes
Valorant has also addressed some bugs that affected the gameplay. Here are all the bug fixes for 9.06:
- The bug where Deadlock’s Sonic Sensors would remain active even as she was killed placing them down was fixed.
- The bug where Cypher’s Trapwire didn’t take damage from abilities was fixed
- The bug where Gekko’s Wingman would be stuck in a loop when trying to chase a player who was too far way was fixed.
- The bug where Yoru’s Fakeout clones wouldn’t trigger Vyse’s Shear was fixed.
- The bug where Breach’s abilities cannot be used through Vyse’s Shear was fixed.
- The bug where Gekko’s Thrash and Raze’s Showstopper could deal damage on the other side of Vyse’s Shear was fixed.
- The bug where Vyse’s Arc Rose could be placed on invalid objects in the map was fixed.
- The bug where Vyse’s Shear blocked bullets when despawning was fixed.
- The bug where Vyse’s Shear was clipping Agent’s bodies was fixed.
- The bug where Vyse’s Razorvine and Shear had their VFX visible when cancelled early was fixed.
- The bug where the Nocturnum Scythe could be visible when hiding, due to height of the weapon being taller than the Agent model was fixed.
- The bug where the Combat report did not display when you kill an ally was fixed.
- The bug where bullets could not go through the mechanical door at A site in Breeze despite it being open was fixed.
Patch Notes For PC
For those who play on PC, there’ve been changes for newcomers and updates on how you interact with other players in the game. Here are all the Patch Notes for PC.
Gameplay Changes
For new players, the game has added a new system, the New Player Tips. This system allows new players to get useful in-game information based on what they do during the match. The tips will provide players with information to improve their gameplay fundamentals, their skill, and how they strategize in the game. The New Player Tips will also provide new players with beginner to advanced strategies on how to play the game. Of course, for existing players the New Player Tips system will not show up unless the player turns it on. The tips can be switched on and off in the Settings page of the game.
Social Changes
For players who have encountered toxic teammates or have experienced harassment during matches, the game has added a new feature where players can block communications with other players. When players block someone, they will no longer see messages in text chat, hear voice comms, see party invites or requests, and friend requests.
Patch Notes for Console
For Console players, there’ll be changes in the game that fix cursor sensitivity and some map updates. Expect some maintenance when the update is launched.
Gameplay Changes
The game has made a few updates to the megamap’s cursor sensitivity settings. They have added a new setting to allow players to select an input curve for the megamap’s cursor control. With those changes they’ve also added cursor curve settings for specific Agents that use the megamap. Brimstone’s Sky Smoke and Orbital Strike, Omen’s From the Shadows, and Clove’s Ruse will have cursor curve settings. The game has also removed aim assist for some abilities that aren’t supposed to target opponents.
Map Changes
Console players will now have access to Fracture as a playable map in Unrated and Swift Play queues. They’ll also have access to the current catalog of Valorant’s maps.
