Valorant’s New FLEX Cosmetic: Is it Worth it?

Valorant has implemented a new cosmetic type into the game, FLEX. These were rolled out in the latest update for Season 25 Act 1. Here’s everything you need to know about FLEX.

What is FLEX?

So, what exactly is FLEX? To explain, Valorant’s Devs released a video showcasing the new cosmetic type, which they market as another way for players to customize their accounts. The new update has 2 FLEX cosmetics available: one free for everyone and one paid. They can be used at any point in the round.

All Flex Cosmetics So Far

Again, there are only 2 FLEX cosmetics so far in the game, which can be equipped in the spray tab of the game. The cosmetics will take up one slot on the spray wheel, and you can equip multiple FLEX cosmetics in the wheel. The walking speed with FLEX equipped is the same as when players have their abilities on hand. Here are all the available FLEX cosmetics so far.

STAT-COM

How to Get: Free with the V25S1 update.
Description: This communication device shows the Agent you’re using and your player card. It has an inspect animation.

Stellar Dendrite

How to Get: Premium Battle Pass
Description: A snowflake that can be spun around on the Agent’s hand. The snowflake has an inspect animation.

Are FLEX Cosmetics Worth It?

FLEX Cosmetics are a neat addition to Valorant’s customization. Now the question is, are they worth it? As of now, no, but that will depend on future releases. The Devs mentioned that anything is possible for future FLEX items, like a block of cheese or a plush you can squeeze. The only possible problem is the cosmetic type being too overpriced. It would be great if they came alongside a skin collection, but players wouldn’t buy it if it were stand-alone. Some streamers, such as TenZ, called the new item a fidget spinner, and they’re right!

Players tend to spam their melee animation while waiting for the round to start. The Devs probably came up with FLEX due to those habits. With future releases, players will have to see if FLEX truly is worth it. If you want to see the new FLEX cosmetics, hop on Valorant and try them out yourself!
