OSRS Demonic Gorilla Guide
Demonic Gorillas came out with the Monkey Madness II quest and are comparable to the Tormented Demons from Runescape 3. In case you didn’t know, these monsters are the only source of ballistas and Zenyte Shards. Within this OSRS Demonic Gorilla Guide, you will learn how to fight around their complex combat style.

What are the requirements to fight a Demonic Gorilla?
In order to fight Demonic Gorillas, you will need to complete Monkey Madness II and go back to the Crash Site Cavern from the quest. As it is a Grandmaster quest, it is quite long and requires high skills and combat stats. Most notably, you will need to grind out 70 Crafting, 69 Slayer and 60 Hunting without any boosts allowed.
While there are no set combat skills to fight them, you will at least want all overhead prayers unlocked along with at least 75 Range, 75 Attack and a high Strength level. Optimally, a maxed account will have the easiest time here. Unlocking untradeable items like Defenders and Barrows Gloves are also very useful.

How do I fight with a Demonic Gorilla?
What is unique about this monster is that it switches between Protect From Melee, Protect From Magic and Protect From Missles in random order. Because of this reason, some players find the learning curve slightly harder than the Jad boss, which only uses two protection prayers. In addition, they switch between high-hitting attack styles that are only realistically mitigated using your own protection prayers.
If you feeble with prayer switching and flicking, you will need to get more practice as that is the base of a Demonic Gorilla fight. These monsters will also use all three attack styles, meaning Melee, Range, and Magic. This can be quite confusing at first, but they will randomly change attack styles after three missed hits.
It should also be noted that the gorillas will randomly stomp and send down a rock that deals serious damage if you don’t move. You will have to pay attention when it makes that certain movement, or you will take serious damage.
While keeping track of preventing damage taken, you must also switch up your attack styles based on what they are currently praying against. They will begin rotating their protection prayers after taking 50 damage in a certain attack style. This is where you need to rapidly click your gear so you don’t keep hitting zeros.
If you are using RuneLite, the Demonic Gorillas plugin makes the fight so much easier. It will keep track of their attack count and predict the next possible attack style. This should help you make quicker prayer and gear switch to avoid damage and downtime.
It is best to hide in the single combat area while the gorillas are still aggressive. Multi-combat is extremely lethal due to the random nature of these monsters and players rarely take on multiple gorillas. Don’t bother using safe spots as this can also lure other nearby mobs.
While supply drops from Demonic Gorillas are designed to extend your trips, you will still be using up food as damage between switches is inevitable. This is why you bring a healing weapon, like the Saradomin Godsword or Toxic Blowpipe special attack. If you have a high magic level, Blood Barrage is another consideration.
Gear Setups
While all three different combat styles may be brought, it is usually worth it for players to focus on melee and range hybriding due to their high magic defense. Luckily, Demonic Gorillas can be beaten with even horrible gear with full concentration but your kills per hour will only go up with gear upgrade. Below are common optimal setups to efficiently grind these monsters:
Slayer Task Setup
- Imbued Slayer Helmet
- Amulet of torture, Necklace of Anguish or Amulet of Fury
- A Fire cape or Ava’s Assembler
- Armadyl Armour with Bandos or Obsidian on-switch
- Arclight or Tentacle with a Toxic Blowpipe or Twisted Bow
- Dragon or Avernic defender
- Primordial or Pegasian Boots
- Barrows Gloves
- Imbued Berserker Ring or Archer’s Ring
The Cheap Setup
- Helm of Neitiznot
- Amulet of Glory or Strength
- Ava’s Accumulator
- Black Dragonhide Armor

How much can I make with Demonic Gorillas?
Demonic Gorillas are definitely one of the better combat-based moneymakers, although it requires higher concentration than most others. While you start out, it would probably be quite slow money per hour due to the occasional death and slow DPS. After you master it, it can exceed doing raids or Zulrah.
The overall profit you make depends on your luck receiving Zenyte shards, which are over 13 million coins at the time of this writing. It has quite a rare drop rate, but if you are killing them for hours a day you are bound to get some eventually.
In addition, ballista parts, rune items, dragon items, seeds, runes, ammunition, and noted metal bars will add up to a hefty profit. They drop Hard and Elite clue scrolls but it would severely eat into your earning rates if you don’t get any rare drops. Count on the profit per hour varying between 700,000 to 3 million coins, deducting the cost of supplies.
Wrapping Things Up
If you follow the advice in this OSRS Demonic Gorilla Guide, these precarious monsters will become a trivial source of money and experience. At the very least, you can kill these when doing Slayer tasks for fast experience and money instead of skipping them.
You put barrows gloves under the void set up.
You would have to use the void gloves to get the set bonus.
