Diablo 4 Season 1 Battle Pass: Price, Release Date and Rewards

By | July 18th, 2023 | Categories: Diablo

Not only does Diablo 4 have a compelling campaign, but it also has seasonal content to make you come back for more. It’s been a few months since the release, and chances are you’ve already finished the main storyline regarding Lilith. After grinding your Paradox levels and earning Renown, what’s next? You’ll be happy to know you can take your experience to the next level using Diablo 4’s Battle Pass for the first season.

Diablo 4 will feature a Battle Pass system each season, much like other live-service games. The passes will include various tiers, opportunities for paid progression, cosmetics for all classes, and more. If you’re wondering how much the battle pass will cost you, when it’s coming out, and what rewards you can expect, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s dive deep into all the details for Diablo 4’s Season 1 Battle Pass.

What Are Seasons?

If you’ve played other online multiplayer games over the past decade, chances are you’re familiar with what seasonal content and Battle Passes are. In Diablo 4’s case, Seasons allow developers to add new features, quests, and Legendary Items, among many other tweaks. Diablo 4’s season is expected to last for up to three months.

Each Season in Diablo 4 comes with a Season Journey. It’s essentially a list of objectives you can tick off to gain perks, such as Legendary Aspects through the Battle Pass before time runs out. At the start of a Season, you won’t be able to bring your existing characters; you’ll need to start with a blank slate. Hopefully, this will encourage you to try new builds or different classes!

Diablo 4 Season 1 is releasing on July 20th, 2023.

Diablo 4’s Battle Pass Explained

Diablo 4’s Battle Pass—for the most part—is that of the typical passes you’d find in other online titles. It’ll consist of a single reward track featuring free and premium rewards to collect. Each season in the game is slated to offer a unique Battle Pass experience by having different limited-time items to collect across the entire Season.

If you’re wondering if you need to pay extra to gain access to the Battle Pass, the answer is no. Since there’s a free tier of the Battle Pass, you can immediately join the current Season at no additional cost once you own a copy of the game and beat its campaign. As with these things, participation during the Seasons is optional, so whether you want to drop more money in the bucket or not, leveling up the Battle Pass will provide you with rewards. Of course, there’s also a paid/premium version of the Battle Pass with more robust offerings. But again, that’s optional.

The Three Battle Pass Options

You have three options to choose from when selecting which Battle Pass you want to go for:

  • Free Battle Pass – The default Battle Pass everyone gets. Costs nothing.
  • Premium Battle Pass – A Battle Pass with extra goodies. You can purchase this option with 1,000 Platinum, equivalent to $9.99 / £8.39.
  • Accelerated Battle Pass – A Battle Pass that lets you skip tiers and gain access to the free and premium tiers. Costs 2,800 Platinum, equivalent to $24.99 / £20.99.

Free Battle Pass Benefits

The free version of the Diablo 4 Battle Pass includes 27 tiers. This means you have 27 opportunities to earn free loot, like Smoldering Ashes and cosmetics, for every season. Since the Battle Pass resets every three months, you only have a limited time to get all the rewards before the Season of the Malignant ends.

Premium Battle Pass Benefits

The premium version of Diablo 4’s Battle Pass has 27 free and 63 paid-exclusive tiers to unlock. You can get cosmetics unique to the current Season by leveling up these paid tiers. Moreover, you can earn Platinum with this Battle Pass, making purchasing a premium Battle Pass easier to swallow since you’re at least getting some of your currency back.

Accelerated Battle Pass Benefits

Like the Premium Battle Pass, the Accelerated Battle Pass includes 27 free and 63 paid tiers. However, you’ll also get 20 additional tier skips and an exclusive cosmetic that can only be obtained through the Accelerated Battle Pass. While tier skipping doesn’t improve your character during the Season, it’s a quick way to zoom through 20 tiers of the Battle Pass without having to grind. This is helpful if you plan to join Season of the Malignant late or don’t have as much time to play Diablo 4.

Rewards to Expect From the Diablo 4 Season 1 Battle Pass

The confirmed Battle Pass rewards for Diablo 4 are the following:
