Where to Find Facewear in FFXIV Dawntrail
The new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV Online (FFXIV) has been up for a few days now and while it has introduced a new land to explore, it also has new features. Notably, the expansion separates fashion accessories and battle equipment. In this article, we will look at the new Facewear category.

What Is a Facewear?
In previous patches of FFXIV, there was a category in the Fashion Accessories that lists your acquired Spectacles. In Dawntrail, this is now replaced by “Facewear.” If you own Spectacles before the change to Facewear, the next section will walk you through the process of converting your Spectacles to Facewear.
How to Convert Spectacles to Facewear
This is not complicated as it sounds. If you own Spectacles before the Dawntrail update, you just have to follow these steps to obtain their equivalent Facewear.
- Visit a Calamity Salvager
- Choose Spectacle Exchange from the menu.
- Select your Spectacles to convert to Facewear.
- That’s all!
You can find Calamity Salvager in the following areas:
- Limsa Lominsa: Upper Decks (X: 11.4, Y: 14.4)
- Old Gridania (X: 10.0, Y: 8.4)
- Ul’dah: The Steps of Thal (X: 12.6, Y: 13.1)

Where to Find Facewear
The old locations where the Spectacles were are still available in those locations, despite being renamed as “The Faces We Wear,” You can find Facewear in the following locations:
- The Faces We Wear – Simple Spectacles: Can be purchased for 3,000 gil from Bango Zango (X: 9.9, Y: 11.4) in Lominsa Lomsa Lower Decks; or from Maisenta (X: 11.5, Y: 11.2) in New Gridania; or from Roarich (X: 10.6, Y:9.5) in Ul’dah – The Steps of Nald.
- The Faces We Wear – Monocles: Can be purchased for 3,000 gil from Bango Zango, Maisenta, and Roarich. Refer to the coordinates in the previous item.
- The Faces We Wear – Thick-rimmed Glasses: Can be purchased for 30,000 MGP from the Gold Saucer Attendant in The Golden Saucer (X:5.1, Y: 6.6).
- The Faces We Wear – Contemporary Prince-nez: Can be purchased for 40,000 MGP from the Gold Saucer Attendant in The Gold Saucer.
- The Faces We Wear – Rimless Glasses: Can be purchased for 70,000 MGP from the Gold Saucer Attendant in The Gold Saucer.
- The Faces We Wear – Minstrel’s Spectacles: Can be purchased for 90,000 MGP from the Gold Saucer Attendant in The Gold Saucer.
- The Faces We Wear – Oval Spectacles: Can be purchased for 100,000 MGP from the Gold Saucer Attendant in The Gold Saucer.
- The Faces We Wear – Shaded Spectacles: Available as a reward from Series 1 of Crystalline Conflict. If you own this, you can convert it to the Facewear version from the Calamity Salvager.
- The Faces We Wear – Classic Spectacles: Available as a possible reward from the Subaquatic Voyages (Anthemoessa, Seafarer’s End, Drifter’s Decat, The Lilac Sea 3).
- The Faces We Wear – Rose-colored Spectacles: Can be purchased for 3x Rokkon Potsherds from Trisassant in Old Sharlayan (X: 12.0, Y: 13.3).
