AFK Journey Snow Stomper: Best Team Comps to Use

AFK Journey Snow Stomper
By | April 17th, 2024 | Categories: Others

Snow Stomper is one of the four Dream Realm bosses you can face in AFK Journey. While not the hardest one among the bosses in this game mode, this one features several interrupt attacks and damage-over-time targeting your healers, making recovery quite challenging. If you don’t have the correct units fielded, you might have a problem healing your team. This guide will help players form the most optimal composition for fighting AFK Journey Snow Stomper.

Who is Snow Stomper

Snow Stomper is one of the few available bosses in the Dream Realm specializing in interrupts and status ailments. He has several attacks that can incapacitate units for several seconds, making them unable to act. While Snow Stomper usually targets the closest units, he will pay special attention to the unit that dealt the most damage during the fight while using his Blizzard. Here is everything that the boss uses in his kit:

  • Targeted Freeze (Ultimate): The boss freezes the enemy with the highest accumulated damage and traps them in a Yeti Cell. The frozen unit cannot act until the trap is destroyed, and they will keep receiving damage until they are freed.
  • Blizzard: Snow Stomper conjures a blizzard that lasts for 20 seconds and deals varying damage per level. The Blizzard also silences all enemies, preventing them from using their abilities.
  • Bite: Boss bites a targeted enemy, dealing damage based on 5% of the target’s max HP and inflicting bleed for 8 seconds.
  • Snowball: Snow Stomper forms a snowball by breathing frozen air, targeting the healthiest enemy, and knocking them down for one second.
  • Frozen Breath: The boss exhales several waves of frozen breath to enemies within one-tile range.

Snow Stomper uses his Ultimate right after he uses Blizzard so that the frozen unit will receive continuous damage. Snowball targets healers, making them less efficient here, mainly if they use channeling spells.

Best Units Per Role

You can beat Snow Stomper by overpowering him with sheer DPS, but you will need sub-DPS units that can leech to sustain your team. You also want characters with high normal damage to break the Snow Case freezing allies during the Ultimate. You don’t need a tank here since Snow Stomper barely targets these units. Instead, you want to focus on buffers and debuffers to amp up your damage and take the boss down as fast as possible. Here are the best units to use per role against Snow Stomper:

DPS

  • Marilee
  • Odie
  • Korin
  • Temesia
  • Rhys
  • Dionel
  • Vala
  • Walker
  • Seth
  • Shakir
  • Cecia

Buffer

  • Shakir
  • Koko
  • Smokey and Meerky
  • Lyca
  • Cassadee
  • Damian

Debuffer

  • Reinier
  • Kruger
  • Thoran
  • Lyca
  • Koko

Healer (If you want to)

  • Reinier
  • Smokey and Meerky
  • Hewynn
  • Damian

Note: Healers here don’t necessarily need to be dedicated supports. They have to burst some form of healing occasionally while also bringing a good amount of DPS.

Snow Stomper Best Compositions

Our team composition for Snow Stomper revolves around bringing units dealing with noticeable DPS to the fight. The goal is always to burst him down as quickly as possible. He has no attacks that will punish you for not bringing any tanks, but his AoEs and DoTs will force you to use some healer. If you are having trouble bursting Snow Stomper down, getting a support unit that can recover the damage done to your team is an absolute must. Here are some of the best team compositions we know that works well against this boss:

Team 1

  • Kruger
  • Shakir
  • Marilee
  • Reinier
  • Odie

Team 2

  • Odie
  • Marilee
  • Kruger
  • Shakir
  • Temesia

Team 3

  • Thoran
  • Marilee
  • Walker
  • Odie
  • Rowan

Team 4

  • Lucius
  • Kruger
  • Korin
  • Odie
  • Rowan

Team 5

  • Thoran
  • Kruger
  • Shakir
  • Koko
  • Odie

Team 6

  • Shakir
  • Thoran
  • Kruger
  • Odie
  • Cecia

Some of these teams feature tanks with buffing and debuffing utilities, so their primary role is not necessarily tanking the damage. Most of these comps focus on ramping up the DPS to eliminate Snow Stomper quickly. However, others rely on having healers that can do burst heals for sustained fights, especially if you don’t have enough damage to finish the battle quickly.
